When you enter The Heartland House you are at home. From the moment you walk through the door, the warm colors and natural light of the Great Room make you feel welcome. Our cozy rocking chairs instinctively invite you to sit, relax, and stay a while.
On cool days, the warmth of the fireplace envelopes the Great Room and provide a comforting glow.
Our long oak dining table enables us to welcome family and friends to dine with us and our residents when visiting.
Just outside the Great Room is our sun deck, screen house, and spacious brick patio available for residents to enjoy.
Residents can stroll through our beautifully landscaped gardens and meditate while sitting on a bench beside the goldfish pond.
Bedrooms are distinctively decorated and residents add their own personal touch with their favorite things. Each bedroom is equipped with cable television.
Each day begins with a well-staffed, friendly environment. Assistance is provided in all aspects of daily living including dressing, manicures, and hair styling. We want our residents to not only feel their best, but look their best as well.
Our meals are genuine country cooking, prepared in our kitchen and served family-style at our long oak table with friendly conversation. We take pride in our delicious homemade cuisine with an abundance of healthful variety from Maryland fried chicken and biscuits to summer cookouts on the sun deck with fresh salads, local produce, and Maryland crab cakes served in the screen house.
Morning exercise is offered along with enjoying the fresh air while lounging on our spacious sun deck, brick patio, and gardens. Afternoons may include Bingo, card games, crafts, walking, music, a special video, or reading a favorite book.
Local clergy provide church services and volunteer groups visit for singing, crafts, and other activities. Children's groups often visit to provide companionship, music, special celebrations, and entertainment.
Our mission is to provide each and every resident a safe, comfortable, and rewarding experience each and every day. It is never too late to create memories of special moments in time at The Heartland House.
We understand how difficult it can be for a resident to leave their home. It is a huge decision for family members who can no longer personally provide 24-hour supervision for those they love.
We can eliminate your concerns and make the transition easier for the entire family. Our staff provide a positive and caring attitude along with compassion which is a critical ingredient to our success during transition and continues throughout a resident's experience at The Heartland House.
