Nestled on 17 acres in Portland’s North Deering neighborhood, Fallbrook Woods offers choices that promote the mental, spiritual, social and physical well-being of the individual, while honoring the self-expression, rituals and routines that are important to all of us.
Our mission at Fallbrook Woods is to provide individuals in need of memory support a life-enriching, secured environment, surrounded by compassionate and dedicated health-care professionals.
At Fallbrook Woods, the staff strive to see the world through the eyes and senses of the person with memory loss. We focus on an individual’s interests, rituals and routines, capabilities and lifestyle preferences. Families are welcomed and encouraged to participate in life enrichment programs and attend ongoing support groups.
All staff — including those in housekeeping, maintenance and dietary — are trained in how to relate to those with memory impairment. This training includes how to engage, redirect and nurture in a positive direction.
A Life Enrichment program, specialized for those with memory impairment, runs seven days a week, and into the evening. The program focuses on enabling the resident to be and feel successful by setting reachable goals and allowing them to lend a helping hand, if they choose.
Fallbrook Woods is pleased to offer the same top-notch care and amenities we have for permanent residents to those who just need a place to stay for the short-term.
Fallbrook Woods provides a personalized program designed with choices in mind to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual. Our Life Enrichment Program is no exception.
Our Life Enrichment Program is designed to meet the unique choices, needs and preferences of each individual. Our monthly activities calendar is filled with opportunities for social interaction, exercise, creative expression, fulfillment and fun. Each activity is specifically planned for the enjoyment of people living with dementia. We create our programs with a “failure-free” philosophy that respects each person’s interests and abilities. In addition to scheduled activities, our staff provides a variety of small group and one-on-one Life Enrichment support throughout the day and often into the evening hours.
Our Circle of Friends program encourages meaningful friendships between residents and staff members. Each staff member is matched up with a resident who they embrace as their friend. They spend quality time with their friend on an ongoing basis, engaging them in conversation and activities. It may be something as simple as looking through family photo albums, taking a walk together or chatting over a cup of coffee. This special connection provides residents with social interaction and moments of joy.
At Fallbrook Woods, we understand how important great food is to our residents. Our dining services staff provides three meals a day, numerous homemade desserts and plenty of snacks in-between meals. Our staff is pleased to prepare special diets and honor personal preferences.
Fallbrook Woods enjoys a wide variety of comfortable dining room settings. We feature two main dining rooms as well as a private dining room that is available for small gatherings and birthday parties. The private dining room is also available for family members to reserve.
