Masonic Pathways now has a video with Impact! A short program hosted by Martin Sheen has been made which highlights and educates about Masonic Pathways, where we came from, and how we serve the needs of Masons and non-Masons. This program will run at the end of many PBS programs, such as Masterpiece Theatre and others. We hope you enjoy this video and learn a little more about who we are, and what we can do for Masons and the community in which they live.

they are the people who raised us the people who loved us unconditionally people who had an indelible impact on our lives they are our parents grandparents aunts and uncles as our families get older taking care of them becomes a very important priority today not-for-profit organizations create a compelling option for families in need of quality senior care you know one of the really big points of in advantages of being a not-for-profit is that it's not a short-term process it not for profits have been around for a hundred years and they're they're reinvesting the dollars all the time and did their care in their mission and I would agree in the mission is what drives a not-for-profit and the one of the advantages is that you're able to reinvest the funds that you receive into your organization rather than paying them out to the benefit of a stockholder or investors and you can do things that a for-profit can't necessarily do including taking care of individuals who might not otherwise have such excellent care because of the not-for-profit status within these organizations the organizations can really focus on the quality of services that they can provide for the residents really look at consumer preferences in what's driving the programs that we actually want to pursue so that they can create a quality of life for them it really takes that pressure off to not to have to satisfy individuals that are owners or operators within the organization's long-term care communities and support services have experienced a major shift in recent years these adjustments have been driven by an increasing number of seniors many with chronic conditions health care reform and modifications and consumer preferences people's preferences are changing significantly and the one thing that we have identified with the assistance of leading age and other organizations is that people really want to stay home for as long as possible you've been hearing that from your fraternity we here from the people who come in here masonic Spath way solution to that is our live better at home program it's a call center program that allows individuals no matter where they live whether it's in the state outside the state whether it's fraternal members or community members to access information and we can help them find the solutions that they require so that they can stay at home longer our role is leading age michigan in regard to programs like that is that we do a lot of the data analysis the trend analysis the environmental scanning that help members begin to learn more about the trends that are out there and also collaborate with other members and with the association alike from the foundation standpoint a program like this has great and far-reaching impact which is important for our donors because they want to know that the money that they donate to our organization is having an impact and a program like this really does and it's it's also another step in the cycle it's an evolution of what we started with in the 1890s to where we are today looting the not-for-profit charge and serving masons and non Masons alike Masonic pathways puts the emphasis back on exceptional living born from the need for a quality caring environment for our loved ones to live out their retirement years michigan mason john d jennings founded the first michigan masonic home in 1881 thankfully without a loss of life in 1910 when the masonic home in Grand Rapids burned to the ground we were provided an opportunity through a generous donation from a gentleman here in Alma when he gave the paternity hundred acres since that time we've valued the opportunity that we were given and we continue to provide this legacy of caring and giving here in Elma we contribute over four million dollars annually to Masonic pathways and in total have contributed in excess of a hundred million dollars and that gift is due in part to the generous gift that we received over a hundred years ago of land and property to start this beautiful facility which has had such an impact not only on the community but on our fraternity statewide that Masonic pathway is providing for the individual needs and preferences of its residents exemplifies the not-for-profit model of continuing care retirement communities the belief that quality care is not the same for every person fuels the unique lifestyle options provided to its residents one of the things we're most excited about at masonic pathways is the variety of living styles that people can choose if they want to move here if you're someone who wants to not have the burden of taking care of your yard or anything like that we have our masonic village estates which is an independent village if it's someone who just really doesn't want to take care of their daily needs don't want to do the washing or cooking any longer maybe need a little bit of queuing because they're a little bit more frail they can live in our residential Center but for those individuals who really do need that support so they can make it through their day more physically frail need rehabilitation services or memory support we have our Jack f Sanders health care center at the core of Masonic pathways is the ability for residents to live as independently as possible amenities at pathways include an outdoor putting green shuffleboard courts theater room beauty shop and computer lab residents have a variety of social outlets without stepping foot off the beautiful hundred acre campus although off campus day trips are regularly scheduled for dining and other entertainment coupled with state-of-the-art medical facilities and a 24-hour staff pathways uses trusted friendships between employees and residents to ensure a living environment that is second to none residents like to live at masonic pathways because every time they walk through that hall every individual who is here they know cares for them appreciates them and that they're holding to the values of Masonic pathways for more information visit the pathways website or call toll free Masonic pathways a legacy of caring
