Tamara (Tammy) Juntilla, the founder of La Bonne Vie, started her career in nursing as a nursing assistant at age 15. Tammy lives with her family in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota.
After graduating from St. Marys College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a Registered Nurse, Tammy had many experiences working in the field of nursing including being in Long Term Care for more then 30 years. Tammy was also Director of Nursing as well as a clinic nurse at a clinic in Finland. Tammy started La Bonne Vie in 2001 with a dream to find a different model of care for seniors.
The model is focused on seniors being treated with great respect and with love in a home enviroment. Although starting La Bonne Vie was a risk, Tammy was willing to take that chance in order to make her own contribution to the improvement of the quality of care for parents and grandparents.
La Bonne Vie is a member of LeadingAge Minnesota, the largest association of organizations serving Minnesota seniors. La Bonne Vie also belongs to the Residential Care Providers Network (RCPN), and follows the quality of care standards.
Moving into an assisted living facility can be difficult for older adults, especially if they are accustomed to being independent and maintaining their own homes. We are located in a private home setting in Golden Valley, Minnesota, which is an inner-ring suburb in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area of Minneapolis and St. Paul. An advantage of moving your loved one to LaBonne Vie is that they will be in a private room in a home and their bedroom at LaBonne Vie can be furnished with their own furnishings to make it like a home away from home. This can help a great deal with the transition to assisted living.
