English Rose Suites - Interlachen is a spirited assisted living community in Hopkins, Minnesota. It is within fascinating Hennepin County which is part of the North Star State.

This is where it all began almost 25 years ago. The first English Rose Suite. And this will be the first home to undergo a full remodel (reconstruction begins in Summer 2021). Perched on a hillcrest, our Interlachen home overlooks scenic Mirror Lake with abundant southern and western sun exposure all year long.

English Rose Suites offers highly personalized care in a traditional single family home with a small group of residents (no more than six) and a high caregiver to resident ratio (average 1:3). Our residents live with dignity and sense of purpose in a small-scale environment surrounded by compassion and love. They wake up on their own time schedule, make individual food choices, form meaningful relationships and contribute to the running of the home. This is their house. Our caregivers are only there to help each person live safely and happily. We do this by cherishing everyone’s story and being present and authentic no matter where their journey leads. On any particular day, you may see grandchildren playing in the yard, a family pet making new friends, kids sneaking food from the fridge. Because an English Rose Suite is a home in the truest sense of the word, full of life and love.

Every English Rose Suite is a well-built home nestled into a lovely neighborhood. Our floor-plans are designed for convenient living, socializing, and safety. Each house has ample outdoor space so residents can work in the yard or just enjoy being in nature. Modern medical equipment ensures residents receive the best care, and the latest technology keeps everyone connected to their loved one.

English Rose caregivers understand residents for who they are. This is an essential ingredient in our unique approach to care, which is a partnership among the resident, family, and English Rose as care provider. It starts with an initial assessment performed by English Rose RN, social worker or care consultant at the resident’s own home, where we endeavor to build a relationship, learn about the resident’s life, and form an understanding of their clinical needs. From there, we develop a customized care plan and partner with the resident and their family to agree on next steps and how best to transition the resident from their home into an English Rose Suite. We support individuals of varying ages with all types of dementia and other complex medical needs.

Once a resident is settled, we strive to provide all medical care within the comfort of the home. An experienced team of nurses provide all the necessary clinical care for our residents, and a 24/7 RN schedule ensures there are no gaps in care. In the event additional medical services are required, we strive to keep the resident at home by bringing in necessary resources (e.g., doctors, labs, X-rays, counselors, mental health specialists, mobile medical equipment, etc.). We are supported by a doctor and nurse practitioner who visit our homes regularly. We also have an on-staff social worker to support the emotional needs of our residents and their families.

With only six residents living in a home and a 1:3 staff ratio, our caregivers (employees, never contracted) have the time and continuity (each dedicated to only 1-2 homes) to build a proper clinical understanding of each resident’s condition and wellbeing. They also benefit from continuing education and training essential to delivering the highest standard of care. Our residents are cared for with dignity and comfort through to their end of life journey. They do not need to leave their English Rose home as they near the end of life. When a person is lovingly cared for in one of our homes, surrounded by family and friends, an end of life journey can be a comforting and beautiful experience.
