come and enjoy as soon as you can don't wait until you have to go imagine not having to take care of the yard don't wait come imagine not having to worry about something that gets in the gutter you feel so free and you don't have all those responsibilities imagine going to the dining room and not having to cook every night independent living there's so much here to offer don't wait too long because we're having too much fun here and you're missing all the fun don't wait till you or your spouse have serious health problems this is home you have the security you have the help you have the friends it's the satisfaction of knowing that someone cares it's pretty much like family everyone watches out for one another this is the best decision we've ever made and I think it's the best decision anyone could ever make I think back now should have done that the day I retired because I would have had a much shorter life in all those years lots of activities lots of good things to do sometimes I wish there were more than 24 hours in a day so that we could get everything in there's concerts there's opera community theater we just do all kinds of things that keeps us active and it really is going to add life to our years it couldn't be better for me it's a very pleasant setting it's quiet it's serene it's it's beautiful a perfect relaxing spot to be it's just a wonderful life

and really the motto of abernathy laurels is to add life two years and through these spiritual and mental and physical and social activities we just do all kinds of things that keep is active and it really is going to add life to our years it's just a wonderful life it really is and people that I hear say I'm not ready to go there yet they just don't know what they're missing the story we like to get out to most people is you know don't wait too long because we're having too much fun here you're missing all the fun I think I have far more friends here then I would ever have had had I lived in a house there's just so many things to do and you're so much more active and I just can't picture now what the why I waited so long either should have done it five years sooner I was retired for ten years before we made this move and if I think fact now should have done it the day I retired because I would have had a much fuller life in all those years

we're living independently now we do our own cooking read your own house cleaning or we can go and come as we want to we can we have our own cars we got her own groceries and we do all that but there comes a point in time when you you lose your ability to drive and you can't go get the groceries so you move to that next level of care where you get your meals here and they'll do some of your housekeeping chores for you and so forth and then of course the next level of care is is when you need medical assistance and the medical assistance includes your meals but there they will take care of you help you with your bath and do all those things for you which you can't do for yourself and then when you get to the point where you beyond that you can go to the nursing the health care unit which is full skilled nursing so you have these various levels and the security of feeling that that's there for you it just gives you a comfort level that you're going to ask for any way anywhere else many people though they want to stay where their kids are because they're going to think the kids are going to take care of them well that's an awful burden to place on your family so that burden is relieved by coming to a place like this and all of our kids are just absolutely thrilled they come to visit us and we visit with them and and they know that we're happy here which is half the battle and they also know that we're going to be cared for and so are our families all of them are just absolutely thrilled that were in a place like this
