The Estates is a 16 unit Assisted Living facility located in Carrington, ND. We are centrally located in the state and are within a 2 hour drive of all four metro areas of North Dakota. We recently completed the purchase of the building and have already begun the process of entirely remodeling the interior of every unit. The only things being left behind are the toilet and tub! We are very excited about the opportunity to provide the community of Carrington and the surrounding area with a much needed service - Assisted Living.

To meet the varying needs of our tenants, as well as to provide that feeling of being pampered, Golden Acres has made a commitment to provide the full range of medical and non-medical staff necessary so tenants can maintain optimal health. For example, Golden Acres staff provide the tenants with every meal, weekly laundry and housekeeping services, and assist with personal cares and medication related items. But we then go beyond that and provide the little things that allow a tenant to feel secure, comfortable and just like they were at their own home. Things such as a 24 hour/day emergency monitoring system, garbage collection, haircuts, transportation anywhere within the community, activity functions, spiritual services, and even morning and bedtime personal checks. It is our goal that every tenant residing within the facility feels as though they are being cared for by family.

To ensure that every tenant enjoys their experience at The Estates, we are constantly developing more ways to provide personal touches. For example, the addition of an office within the facility to allow immediate access to one of our administrative nurses, the inclusion of all tenants and their families in facility based events and parties, and the periodic pizza or burger supper in the courtyard. These are just some of the ways we try to ensure a homelike experience for the tenants of our facility.

We recognize the variety of interests, abilities, and needs of the elderly. We also believe in the social model for services and programming which emphasizes involvement in activities of life at whatever level is possible or desired.

All of our services will focus on assistance. Our role is not to "do for," but to "assist with" each tenant's identified needs. By emphasizing assistance, we will support independence and promote dignity for the tenants at this residence.

Activity and service intensity will be determined by the interest, abilities, and functional limitations of the identified tenant's needs. An individualized assistance/service plan will be developed for each tenant, using a team approach with tenant, family, and staff participation.
