Luther Memorial Home (LMH) is a 99-bed skilled nursing facility with 77 private rooms and 11 double rooms, 24 hour Medicare and Medicaid Certified nursing care is provided. We also offer an 18-bed secured dementia unit. LHM is a nonprofit corporation owned and operated by Lutheran Church Congregations.
Mayville is a small town with all the comforts of a big city, Within blocks fro LMH are Sanford Hospital and Clinic, Dental and Eye Care Providers, and downtown. For the resident's convenience, local physicians from Sanford Clinic in Mayville provide routine visits at Luther Memorial Home. Mental health services are available in-house monthly. Nursing staff are able to contact a resident's physician to update them on changing needs or concerns 24 hours a day.
Additional benefits include transportation to medical appointments in Grand Forks or Fargo in one of our two handicap accessible vans. All residents will be accompanied by a Certified Nursing Assistant. Family is always welcome to ride alone to appointments.
Luther Memorial Home offers physical, occupational, and speech therapy as ordered by a resident's physician. A specialized feature of LMH is a heated therapy pool. A restorative therapy program is provided to help residents enhance and maintain their physical abilities and strength.
An interdisciplinary team, which includes nursing, dietary, activities, social services, therapy, and a resident's primary physician, develop a care plan to assist each resident in meeting and maintaining their highest level of independence. The interdisciplinary team of caregivers regularly reviews the physical and emotional needs of each resident and holds care conferences with resident and their families.
Short-term stays for rehabilitation are offered to those individuals recovering from major illness, surgery, neurological and orthopedic conditions. We provide the same rehab services offered elsewhere under Medicare. When an individual is ready to return home, assistance with discharge planning is provided. Upon returning home, the individual will have the capabilities, knowledge, and confidence to manage their own care with the necessary community support services in place to assist them, if needed.
Luther memorial Home provides a variety of activity programs which include spiritual, social, intellectual, and recreational needs. Activities are provided one-on-one and in groups, depending on the needs of the resident. Mass and Church services are offered weekly in our Chapel. LMH has a Chaplain on staff, as well as a Caring Ministry Team. Our team provides volunteers to help meet the spiritual needs of our residents. A licensed beautician and barber are provided on site for all hair care needs.
LMH has a 24 hour visiting policy, welcoming family and friends to visit at their convenience. if you care to visit with your family in private or enjoy a meal together, rooms are available. A courtyard is also accessible, which includes a 3-season shelter that can accommodate small or large groups.
Meadowlark Lane (MLL), an 18-bed dementia unit, was established for residents with Alzheimer's and related illnesses. Meadowlark Lane is a home-like environment that focuses on a person's special needs and abilities. The floor plan is open and allows for safe wandering. Meadowlark Lane includes a secured outdoor courtyard. Specialized programming, a low stimuli environment and trained staff promotes an improved quality of life for all who live there.
Adult Day Care is also offered, providing nutritional meals with special diet provisions, nursing supervision, administration of medications, personal care and health. Opportunities for socialization and group activities, along with a private rest area, are another benefit to our Adult Day Care program.
