Whispering Winds Cottage is a specialized Memory Support Assisted Living Facility located in Beatrice, Nebraska. Whispering Winds Cottage provides various levels of assisted living care to residents with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.
Our facility features 16 completely private rooms located around the perimeter of the building. Common living and dining spaces are centralized, so residents can socialize and enjoy activities. There is a secure outdoor area that overlooks beautiful trees and rolling hills.

At Whispering Winds Cottage, we believe that an active life is a nurturing experience. Whether spontaneous or planned, simple or elaborate, activities can bring about a feeling and sense of self-worth and well-being. Our “Life Enrichment” program touches the aspects of a person’s body, heart, soul and mind to keep our residents engaged and fulfilled, ultimately improving their quality of life.
Regular physical expression through exercise is very important for persons with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Current research shows that people who exercise on a regular basis develop Alzheimer’s later in life and regular exercise actually slows the disease process. Our exercise programs are simple, low impact and entertaining. We may even dance to favorite melodies.
We all have a certain degree of creativity and that is a quality of life to be celebrated. Current research shows that persons with Alzheimer’s and related dementia often experience a spike in creativity. We want to celebrate that and encourage imagination involving artistic expression, poetry and music.
We believe that persons, even those with Alzheimer’s and related dementias, never stop learning. Even those who are profoundly forgetful, still enjoy the experience of learning. Our life enrichment activities offer the opportunities for learning and value this as an endeavor to be valued and celebrated.
