Resident bedrooms are spacious, well-decorated, and private. All are equipped with full bathrooms, new furniture, and flat screen televisions. The dining area is bright and sunny. The back of the building has a large deck overlooking our 7+ acres of field, woods, and wildlife.
Three nutritious and well-balanced meals are prepared daily in our kitchen and served to the residents by staff. Snacks are offered between each meal and before bed time. Ongoing care is taken for those residents who have special dietary needs.
All needs are provided for including; transportation to/from appointments, supervision with medications, and assistance with activities of daily living.
Our caring and compassionate staff are present 24 hours a day. We understand each resident’s needs and are responsible for overseeing their activities of daily living. We provide supervision of medications, monitor dietary and nutritional requirements, and assist with bathing, dressing and personal laundry. Nursing services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure that the residents are receiving adequate medical attention when needed. We maintain close contact with each resident’s personal physician and arrange transportation for appointments. The McCoy Home also utilizes many community resources including physical therapy, speech therapy, hospice, podiatry and nursing. Communication is maintained with family members, which is important in the overall quality of care of each individual.
Our activities program, offered during all seasons of the year, fills the residents’ days with joy. It is updated regularly and consists of a daily variety of stimulating activities. Resident interests and ideas are always welcome and encouraged. Many enjoy spending time in the community, whether it is shopping, dining, scenic rides, or bowling, they thrive on the opportunity to reminisce about the “good old days”. A hairdresser is on site to pamper the ladies and groom the gentlemen.
From our back deck, residents are able to watch deer, turkey, and other wildlife come out to play. The birds feeding off the deck and the wildlife sightings always make the start of a new day delightful.
For residents that enjoy the outdoors, we have a vegetable garden that they can putter around in and watch the veggies come up and grow to maturity. Residents can choose to participate in the planting and watering of our vegetable and flower gardens if interested.
Musicians, therapy animals, and other entertainment are scheduled for residents to enjoy.
The staff regularly plan parties and celebrations, the most recent being a themed 60s party that converted the dining hall into the “McCoy Diner”!
