Goldenview Living is an extraordinary assisted living community in North Brunswick, New Jersey. It is within picturesque Middlesex County which is part of the Garden State.
Goldenview Living consists of two New Jersey residences specializing in memory care. We work with Alzheimer’s specialists to create warm and inviting home environments where our residents feel comfortable and at ease while they are receiving the care they require.
Goldenview Living provides quality dementia care and structured activities by compassionate and dedicated care providers in a safe and supportive community residence that they can call home. We deliver a person-centered approach to care that respects and honors each resident’s individuality thus maintaining his or her quality of life.
Many of our residents’ families realize that their loved one can no longer remain in their home, but don’t wish to move them into an institutional setting. We built Goldenview Living because we can relate to these feelings with our own family members and don’t think you should have to choose between quality care and quality of life.
Goldenview provides a wide range of services for those suffering from memory loss. We are pleased to offer memory care services you might otherwise find in an institutional setting in a home environment. In this setting, our residents can feel more at ease and are still able to host visitors like they would in their own home.
Our homes specialize in caring for people with memory loss. Our staff is empathetic to the needs of our residents and is extremely knowledgeable about dementia, ways to improve communication, interventions to reduce behavioral issues, and is able to assist your loved one with their activities of daily living. We continually educate our staff on the latest dementia care practices to ensure the highest quality of care is being provided.
Designed by our memory care experts. Goldentouch stimulates each of the five senses through structured activities that our residents both enjoy and respond well to. We offer numerous activities that residents can participate in either individually or in a group, depending on their preferences. This holistic approach works to enhance each person’s quality of life.
Anything that we can feel on our skin can be stimulating to our memories. Providing objects to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease encourages reminiscence and is mentally stimulating. For example, giving someone a bag of sand or seashells could evoke memories of their summers at the beach.
As Alzheimer’s disease progresses, the ability to communicate verbally will often diminish. Involving the residents in art activities can help foster a different way of communicating while also reminiscing.
Many events in our lives involve food, which is why we often associate certain dishes with specific memories. We give our residents the opportunity to cook and bake with supervision or assistance because the tastes and smells may help them to recall a memory from their past.
Music therapy can have a profound impact on individuals with memory loss by sparking memories, easing agitation, and enhancing our residents’ moods.
Our senses of smell may evoke memories and feelings related to a familiar aroma. Studies have shown certain scents used in aromatherapy can have a positive effect on individuals with memory loss. Some of these scents include lavender, peppermint, and rosemary.
Our homes are filled with home cooked meals, comfortable living areas, therapeutic activities, and a team of individuals who all chose careers helping those with memory loss because they believe that our residents deserve to live with dignity despite having a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.
