Jewish Home Assisted Living is a magnificent assisted living community in River Vale, New Jersey. It is within pleasant Bergen County which is part of the Garden State.
Jewish Home Assisted Living, Kaplen Family Senior Residence, offers an elegant community which promotes resident dignity and well-being in a home-like environment. Respectful independence, supportive services, and Jewish traditions all with family and community involvement make up the core of our values.
We have the distinct honor of achieving Advanced Standing status, granted by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. This recognition is given to a select group of Assisted Living Communities and reflects outstanding quality and consistency of service.
Our community offers Glatt Kosher elegant dining, 24 hour nursing supervision and medication management by a licensed nurse, dementia care, respite care, hospice care, physical, occupational, speech and restorative care therapies, therapeutic activities, state-of-the-art personal PA FM listening system for those with hearing impairments, vibrant programming, full time social workers, and weekly personal shopping.
Jewish Home Assisted Living offers a unique unit called “Memory Lane”, which specializes in caring for those individuals with mild to moderate dementia. Twenty four private studios are available within Memory Lane. This wing provides a home-like environment with a beautiful secure park-like outdoor seating area. We offer an increased staffing ratio and provide hands on assistance with activities of daily living and medication management. Our residents in Memory Lane are served gourmet meals with designated waiters and/or waitresses. Residents of this unit partake in a separate activity calendar which offers stimulating and engaging programs, all under the direction of a dedicated activity professional 7 days a week.
One of the main concepts of assisted living is to allow aging in place. During the course of one’s life the need for hospice care may arise. Jewish Home Assisted Living believes in preserving one’s dignity and comfort in a home-like environment with the support of Jewish Home Assisted Living’s staff and hospice providers.
When an elderly person is cared for by a family member, there is tremendous stress placed on the family. At times, caregivers require time away from the responsibilities of caring for that family member. Respite services are available for such circumstances. Respite stays are for a minimum of two weeks and no longer then 30 days.
The Activities Department at Jewish Home Assisted Living is unique when compared to other assisted living activities departments. Managed by a Certified Activities Therapist, with a staff of both full time and part time employees, our activities department keeps our residents engaged and empowered by offering a sophisticated program for those “young at heart.”
