Clark Manor has a long history of caring. As far back as 1899, Mary Clark Thompson, who resided at Sonnenberg Gardens in Canandaigua during the summer, formed The Clark Manor House as a charitable organization in memory of her parents.
Residents enjoy easy access to the lovely gardens, a walking trail to a gazebo nestled among the trees of the spacious, beautifully landscaped, five-acre yard, as well as the newly built pavilion for outdoor meals in the summer. The living room is available to the residents for entertaining or being entertained. The solarium provides the perfect place to relax. Summer afternoons can be enjoyed from the screened front porch where you can leisurely visit with friends and family, or just enjoy the solitude and the beauty of the grounds. The dining room has beautiful antique furnishings where residents enjoy tasty, nutritious meals prepared by an executive chef. Clark Manor can truly be yours with your own furnishings or, you can move into a room already tastefully furnished.

The Clark Manor House offers carefree living and quality care in a welcoming home-like environment, not corridor living. We have 17 private rooms with updated bathrooms (one is a two-bedroom suite). In addition, we have 24-hour personal care assistance in a safe and secure setting, dedicated staff, case management, medication supervision by licensed nurses, and three home-cooked nutritious meals daily by one of the best chefs in the area.

At The Clark Manor House, in order to deliver quality services, housing and programs that promote quality of life and dignity amount senior adults, we strive to hire the best staff possible. This starts with our leadership team and continues with all 26 staff. We all treat our residents like family out of respect and with love. That is sometimes the difference between a living in an adult home with a family-like team versus a large, corridor-type living facility with a large staff. What’s even better is we have more nursing staff than required because we think it’s important the best level of care possible.
Clark Manor provides a weekly schedule of activities to residents and their family. Whether it’s a salon day where you can get your hair done, book club, being entertained by a guest musician, being creative and artistic, building a puzzle, playing Rummy, exercise and stretching classes or our annual family picnic, there is plenty available. We also schedule outings in the community.
