We focus on people! Our residents are family. Conveniently located just minutes from Exit 30 on the New York State Thruway, the Mohawk Homestead is an adult care residence for the elderly. We offer care and services for long-term residents. Established in 1841, we are an adult care facility with 20 ALP beds. Adult care facilities are for people needing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) but wishing to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.
Adult care facilities exist to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing homes. Residents in adult care centers are not able to live by themselves but do not require constant care. Adult care facilities offer help with ADLs such as eating, bathing, dressing, laundry, housekeeping, and assistance with medications. Adult care is not an alternative to a nursing home, but an intermediate level of long-term care appropriate for many seniors.
