Carnegie East House is an active community of older adults located in the heart of the Upper East Side in Manhattan New York. Residents enjoy the freedom of independent senior living and the ease of hotel-like amenities: full dining services, housekeeping, laundry, personal care, nursing and social worker support and a robust program of dynamic activities. As a not-for-profit, enriched housing provider, the Carnegie East House community offers a haven where residents can celebrate the experience of aging with dignity and grace.

Life is different at Carnegie East House, and it shows. Visitors always comment about the unique “feel” they experience throughout our community. Staff and residents alike are friendly and happy. Without the burden of cooking, cleaning and laundry, our residents use their found time to explore the many treasures of this incredible city.

Our unique property is comprised of only 97 apartments and located in the heart of Carnegie Hill on New York City’s Upper East Side, Carnegie East House is an “enriched housing” community licensed by the New York State Department of Health for the support and benefit of older adults.

The Carnegie East House community offers an ideal platform for the social connections that are so vital to healthy aging, improved mobility and cognitive health. There are a wealth of activities and amenities to enjoy right in the community. Residents enjoy delicious meals, dynamic activities, fitness classes, workshops, lectures, concerts and films.

Carnegie East House feels more like a hotel than a senior housing facility. Attentive care is always present, but almost invisible. We believe that older adults should be empowered and remain in control of their lives. Our community celebrates freedom and offers support when it’s needed. Personalized care plans are developed to meet individual needs while letting residents retain their independence.

Our administrators and staff, most of whom have worked here since we opened in 2002, know all of our residents as well their family and friends. Every team member is dedicated to the safety, support and care of our residents.
