Astoria Place of Cambridge offers traditional, as well as, advanced clinical therapy programs. A staff of fully-trained, licensed therapists provide the highest quality treatment. Select Rehabilitation provides our therapy contract with our therapy team that consists of Physical, Occupational, and Speech/ Language Therapists.
All residents are screened to identify any needs for evaluation or treatment.
The therapy department at Astoria Place of Cambridge provides individualized plans for care, home assessments, and recommendations with discharge planning. Services integrate nursing care, therapy, activities, dietary, and other departments to enhance the function of each patient, improving the quality of life.
Whether you are recovering from a recent hospital stay or require minimal nursing assistance, our team of dedicated healthcare professionals are able to meet all of your nursing needs. With staffing that exceeds the Medicare guidelines for nursing facility care, Astoria Place of Cambridge is well equipped to meet your loved ones’ individual needs. Medication management is offered to all the residents with the coordination of our Medical Director or the resident’s Primary Care Physician.
Our 24-hour nursing services consist of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and State Tested Nurse Aides. Included in our nursing services is our treatment nurse that specializes in wound treatment and care to help ensure that pressure ulcers are not acquired and surgical sites are dressed and healing appropriately.
Our Medical Director is Dr. William Shade from Zanesville, Ohio. He is available to our staff at all times and makes getting orders for care quick and easy. He visits our building each week and sees his residents in our long term care facility monthly. In addition to our medical director, we offer on-site psychology, podiatry, optometry, and dental services from local physicians to meet the needs of our residents.
We offer semi private in our long term care and skilled care units. Our attentive staff take the time to always ensure that residents are paired with roommates/companions that will complement each individuals’ stay at our facility. We are also able to accommodate for the needs of married couples. All rooms are fresh, pleasant and cleaned daily. Laundry and linen services are also available to all our residents at no additional charge. Cable and telephone services are available to each resident and already installed for easy use.
Our attractive, comfortable dining room enhances the warm, homey atmosphere. Our professional nutritional staff, complete with a Dietitian and a Dietary Supervisor carefully individualizes resident’s meals to ensure that they are well-balanced and nutritious. Astoria Place of Cambridge is adept in coordinating specialized and therapeutic diets with each resident’s primary care Physician to meet the needs of our residents.
The safety of our residents is vital. Our facility is equipped with many features, which make it a safer place to live then many private homes. We have a wander-guard unit in our long term care and skilled halls to assist staff in maintaining the needs of early Alzheimer’s/Dementia and wandering behaviors. Our facility also has handrails in our hallways, heat and smoke detectors, fire alarms with updated sprinkler systems throughout the home.
Professionally planned and coordinated programs are offered and encouraged to all residents. Our staff encourages everyone to pursue those interests that have been a traditional part of their lives and also to try new activities. Programs include crafts, individual hobbies, cards, bingo, parties, teas, movies, worship services, and programs sponsored by and/or in the local community. In addition to the usual events in the facility, our goal is to host one BIG event each month. Invitations to these special events are extended to all residents, families, staff, and the community. We are also able to provide an enclosed courtyard ideal for strolling, visiting, relaxing, and gardening.
