In 1990, Epworth Villa opened its doors, and we’ve been flourishing ever since. Our residents include singles and couples from all walks of life. Retired teachers, ministers, military, veterans, physicians, lawyers, small business owners, full-time homemakers, and more, all united by an enthusiasm for life and each other. True, deep friendships are made among those who live here, and the result is a sense of community you’ll not likely find anywhere else.
Epworth Villa was founded by and is affiliated with the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church. However, you’ll find people of many denominations living here. Welcoming people of all backgrounds and faiths is one of the reasons our community has such vitality and strength.
As a locally owned not-for-profit Life Plan Community, we reinvest our revenue after expenses back into the community to maintain staff and our beautiful environment and to keep enhancing services and amenities.
As the senior population continues to grow, we will continue to adjust to meet their expanding needs and their desire to embrace all that life has to offer.

I'm grateful for being in a faith-based community mother's 91 years old vibrant active alive I believe really the key here is good nutrition socialization the fact that everyone eats with everyone and everyone knows every everyone okay and being actively involved in activities that typically involve giving of themselves to others they see the stars to me my personal mission statement is to passionately serve God family seniors and community so it really is mission alignment of my personal mission statement with that mission and ministry of the organization so really our goal is not just to transform epworth Villa but also to transform aging services in the state and lead the way and encourage others to do the same I think one of the chief enemies that aging people face is the danger of isolation and here every time they go to a meal they're seated with other people they're making new friendships and there's no way for a person to become isolated here what we were looking for was a place where we could move to without ever moving again that no matter what our situation was there was a facility and a place for us whether we were needed assisted living or in the memory unit or even hospice it was all right here on this campus one of the things that draws us together is our common faith we are a united methodist retirement living community we come together every thursday for a an ecumenical vespers service there's also four chaplains on the canvas and that's very intentional so that we can nurture the soul and the spirit of each resident as well as the employees and meeting them where they're at right now and helping them as they age successfully it is a family I can't tell you the number of people who when I headed a down period I had some health problems and I can't tell you the number of people who would leave messages in my inbox you know I didn't know them but they would be thinking of me or they would be praying for me I think that's very telling this is not a nursing home I promise you it is a place where you can make new lifelong friends enjoy all of the amenities it's a place of of just being able to enjoy this time in your life this place is my family it's my own I feel were called on to do great things in our lives and this is my ministry the way I can pay it forward to my residence I found a home and we're enjoying every minute of it mother his has obviously been very very happy here it's it has been a great mood for her I'm very grateful for them for the whole family it's a solid solid place to be you Oh you

I think she was apprehensive we looked at several different places and back and forth back and forth back and forth and initially I thought we're not going to look at birth I've heard that place is so expensive it's just going to be way out of our range see I didn't even know that I didn't know that she would be better bring me over and on him one chance or something I decided well mines well let's go look at it and we said how we talked that gave us the numbers and it actually turned out to be really more affordable here than some of the other places and the inclusiveness and the nice facility really made it and more enticing as well as the people so we came out and it was about my state with her the first few nights got her comfortable and acclimated and was about to accept her she'd been here and she had said there was going to be a saxophone player on a Friday night I'd had a busy week and I thought oh just as much as I really want to go out to epworth villa and see the saxophone player tonight I'm really tired I called and she said oh don't even worry about coming out I've got friends I've gone with I picked the poke down and said I just got kicked to the curb but I've never been more delighted because that was assurance to me that she made friends here was feeling really comfortable and welcome here and I will back up everything she said and second it that the people out here wonderful everyone from the restaurant staff to the drivers to the front desk staff to the management there's no one year that does not welcome every resident and go out of their way to make them feel comfortable and at home studies have shown how critical important social circle and sense of purpose those are critical to longevity i think is diet and exercise so you know when you're part of that I think that some you do a good thing mom
