Assisted Living is the best of both worlds. It’s an option for folks who need a bit of assistance and want more social interaction, but still enjoy the privacy of their own apartment.
Our Assisted Living facilities come with the peace of mind that additional resources and services you may need are conveniently available.
Aging in Place is a key component of the Marquis difference. Within our Assisted Living Facilities, we have flexible levels of service and transparent pricing. Should you need a higher level of care, all of our Assisted Living Facilities are connected to a partnering Post Hospital Care facility, where you will experience the same excellent quality of staff, systems and resources. As a Marquis client, you will always receive priority for the level of care you need.
Every Assisted Living facility has a dedicated, full time Registered Nurse available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to having our own Registered Nurse available daily, we can arrange to have outside services such as podiatry, mobile dentistry, vision care and physical therapy brought in. Our nursing staff can also help with medication management, whether you need a little help or complete oversight. Should the need arise, we can help with progressed clinical conditions and also arrange for Hospice care in your own apartment.
Our Alzheimer’s / Memory Care facilities, known as Friendship Houses, are specially designed to ease symptoms and improve quality of life.
We provide person-centered, customized Alzheimer’s and memory care options for seniors. The staff at our memory care facilities provide the clinical expertise that helps families feel secure their loved one will receive the best possible care.
Our Friendship House buildings and decorations reflect a calm setting that plays upon all four senses (sight, sound, taste and touch). Special attention is paid to color and pattern to reduce confusion and agitation. We take care to create an environment that is secure, yet open and inviting. Having safe outside spaces where they can connect to the environment is very important to our residents. Tactile, memory-triggering items, music and art are integral parts of each day.
We approach memory care for seniors by following the techniques of Teepa Snow, a world renowned expert on dementia and Alzheimer’s. In this way we meet complex and unique needs of each senior in our care.
We believe, as Teepa Snow believes, that meaningful days matter to all people. She outlines four categories of activities that help people create meaning and purpose: 1. Work 2. Leisure 3. Self Care and 4. Rest and Relaxation. We take all of these categories into account when designing daily, personalized activity calendars for our residents. From dining together, contributing through service or enjoying a visit with animals or children, our residents stay engaged in the right routine for them.
Our Alzheimer’s and memory care staff receive highly specialized training that makes them uniquely qualified to meet the individual needs of our Friendship House residents.
