Oak Leaf Manor is a Premier Personal Care home located in Lancaster County, PA. We provide care that can grow with the needs of each of our residents. We offer five different levels of care and residents only pay for the care that they need. Care levels can decrease as a resident’s personal care needs decrease. Our staff encourages independence and strives to keep each of our residents functioning at their most independent level.
The care and service we provide is guided by five core values: hospitality, stewardship, integrity, respect and humor, resulting in a vibrant community focused on the whole person – assuring dignity, privacy, comfort and quality of life for each person.
Our aim is to make our residents’ day-to-day lives a bit easier, which enables them to live on their own for as long as possible. Independent living is ideal for seniors who want to continue to participate in their own activities, participate in community life, and enjoy an active lifestyle without the concerns of home ownership, such as yard work or household repairs.
We help aging adults with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, doing laundry, and taking medications. Our staff members, including at least one medical professional, are on call 24 hours a day.
The key difference between independent living and personal care is the level of assistance offered for daily living activities and health care.
Along with Premier Personal Care, Oak Leaf Manor is home to Friendship Place, a secure neighborhood inside Oak Leaf Manor that provides specialized care for individuals with memory impairment, such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Lewy Body Disease, and other forms of dementia as well as memory impairment which occurs unexpectedly as a result of other health complications. Oak Leaf Manor’s philosophy advocates valuing the whole person and affirming each resident as an individual. The home-like, relaxed atmosphere promotes participation through spending time with our trained and experienced staff in smaller groups, where the emphasis is on support, positive redirection, and encouragement.
The journey of memory loss is challenging, both for the person who experiences it and their loved ones. Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia requires a focused team for the challenge.
We take additional precaution to ensure our residents are safe and protected from wandering off and the fear of injury. To provide mental and physical stimulation, our caring staff provides each resident with activities that are suited to their interests and skills.
