Country Comfort Alternative Living

Country Comfort Alternative Living is a spirited assisted living community in New Columbia, Pennsylvania. It is within pleasant Union County which is part of the Keystone State.

Country Comfort Alternative Living is a licensed personal care home under the direction of the Department of Welfare in Pennsylvania.  We are located in a rural setting approximately one and a half hours north of Harrisburg, PA and about a half hour south of Williamsport, PA.

Our home can accommodate twenty residents. Each resident has a private suite and toilet facilities. Each suite also has a large closet, wall to wall carpeting, a window, television cable hookup, and telephone jack for private phone line. We encourage residents to bring their own furniture and wall hangings to make it feel more like their home.

Country Comfort Alternative Living will strive to provide a respectable, dignified, and independent living environment featuring private accommodations for retired persons in need of assistance in their daily activities of living. 

Country Comfort Alternative Living will provide the assistance you need using trained qualified staff persons. We can assist you with:

• 24-hour a day supervision to assist you with whatever your needs may be,
• Personal hygiene, hair grooming, bladder incontinence care, showers or bathing,
• Transportation needs, making and keeping appointments,
• Storing, ordering and remembering to take your medications,
• Cleaning your suite and doing your laundry.

We will provide you with three meals a day as well as snacks and beverages between meals. We also have a morning exercise class (all exercises are done sitting down on a chair) and afternoon activities which include:

• Bingo,
• Sing-a-longs,
• Reminiscing,
• Socials,
• Games,
• Crafts,
• And Bible Studies.
