Welcome to Hayes Manor Retirement Residence, an independent, non-profit retirement and personal care home in Philly, just minutes from the Main Line. Hayes Manor is designed to provide residents with appropriate housing and services in one location, whether they are independent or assisted living residents. Nestled by a golf course with manicured and landscaped grounds, we offer residents all of the amenities and conveniences one would expect to find in a much more expensive retirement community in Philadelphia.

Since 1886, Hayes Manor Retirement Residence’s mission has been to provide dignified housing, excellent healthcare and essential services to older people of limited financial resources.

Hayes Manor offers a variety of comfortable and distinctive living options. The 53 Personal Care rooms are spacious, with an abundance of light, color and views of beautiful scenery. These are private rooms with a private or semi-private bath. Personal Care services include assistance with bathing, dressing, and feeding and ambulation, if required, as well as administration of medicine.

We also have 12 beautiful Independent Living apartments overlooking the lush expanse of the Bala Country Club. Each of the apartments includes a bedroom, a living/dining room area, private bath, and a small kitchenette.

To provide the benefits of Aging in Place for all of our residents, we offer a variety of levels of assistance based upon each resident’s changing needs and demands.

All levels of care include: staff on duty 24-hours per day; daily bed linen service; hairdresser and barber on premises; social, cultural and recreation activities; all utilities (phone & cable are available, but not included); weekly visits to the house physician if needed; a visiting dentist; visiting podiatrist; visiting optometrist; ambulance service available; mobile units for x-rays and blood work; and the use of our Special Care Unit, our in-house hospital-like setting for short-term health needs.

From sharing lunch to assisting with shopping trips, our trained staff strives to make each and every resident feel special and appreciated.

The Hayes Manor professional staff is made up of nurses, nurse assistants, and others who are trained to provide the best possible standards of care for our residents.

Our Activities Office coordinates a variety of programs that include Bingo, exercise classes and yoga, painting and crafts, and computer classes. You may participate in frequent outings to Bala Shopping center, Center City restaurants, concerts, plays, museums, dinner theaters and casinos. Our weekly “social hour” is a favorite with residents. Several afternoons a week, you can enjoy a movie in our multipurpose activity room, and in-house entertainment is provided regularly. We honor all birthdays and anniversaries, and we also celebrate major holidays.
