Bois D'Arc Assisted Living is an active assisted living community in Lockhart, Texas. It is within radiant Caldwell County which is part of the Lone Star State.
Situated in a neighborhood setting, Bois D'Arc has a long history, having been originally built as a private home in 1928. In 2007, the residence was converted to a 16-suite assisted living facility with an additional living area by extending the original structure and adding two wings in the back.
In the process, care was exercised to be sure the architectural integrity was retained throughout the original building and continued in the addition. The end result is a truly intimate residential feel that makes all who experience the décor, ambiance and aroma from the open kitchen feel right at home.
At Bois D’Arc Assisted Living, we want you to feel at home. Each of the 16 suites have a sitting room, bedroom and walk-in closet. They also each have a spacious, private bathroom featuring large, walk-in showers with safety rails. Our suites are designed with the comfort of our residents in mind.
Residents may personally furnish their own 400 square foot suite. With treasured mementos and favorite furniture, a resident’s suite becomes “home”. Cable, wireless internet capability, housekeeping and valet laundry is provided to each individual resident.
Two large social gathering areas, a smaller private sitting room, a spacious deck and front sitting porch all provide plenty of community areas for socializing amongst residents and with visitors. A grand piano holds a prominent spot close to the front door. Often you will find an imaginative activity, exercise, music and other group enriching leisure activities in progress. Décor throughout the house is in keeping with the feel of the original home's architecture.
Delicious and nutritious meals are hand-prepared daily with the special dietary concerns of the residents in mind, and served “family style” in the dining room. Our Town Car service is available for local doctor appointments and other necessities.
Amenities and care included are:
- 2 Room ADA compliant Suite: Full bathroom with walk-in Shower, large walk-in Closet; Refrigerator, Microwave, and Cable TV for one outlet (Living or Bedroom) and wireless internet capability. Residents are free to decorate their suite to their taste and preference…..after all it is their home! The house provides a small and intimate environment with only 16 suites.
- Personal Homelike Atmosphere with 2 large living/sitting areas. One with big screen TV and one with a Fireplace and Grand piano.
- Medication Assistance: We closely monitor all medications, as well as confer and coordinate with physicians and outside Home healthcare givers or hospice.
- Laundry Room: We provide regular laundry service for you, or you are free to use the facilities yourself.
- Kitchen serving 3 Homemade Meals daily in a Family Dining room.
- Limosine Transportation in Lockhart including, all appointments, medical and personal care, shopping, etc.
- Personalized Celebrations: Birthdays, Friend/Family BBQ, Holidays. We also have Bingo & Exercise weekly, and bring in outside Entertainment. Families are welcome to plan private celebrations using available areas in the house.
- Covered Front Porch and a Private Back Deck built around majestic Pecan shade trees.
