Golden Age Home Assisted Living is an excellent assisted living community in Lockhart, Texas. It is within classy Caldwell County which is part of the Lone Star State.
We are an intentional community that serves each resident with the utmost dignity and excellence. Golden Age Home began as a dream in the hearts & minds of the community of Lockhart First United Methodist Church in the late 1950s. It was apparent to these concerned Lockhart citizens that there was a need for a Christian environment for the elderly who could no longer maintain their own homes. Their vision was to build a place where these ladies and gentlemen could receive necessary medical care, a balanced diet, and planned activities. Golden Age Home received its nonprofit status in 1964 which it continues to operate under today.
Assisted Living facilities offer choices in a residential setting about personal care and health related services. At Golden Age Home each resident has their own efficiency/ studio apartment. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, lawn care and household repairs are managed so the residents can enjoy life to the fullest. Residents are provided with emergency call systems to alert team members immediately if they need help. Team members are in the community 24-hours a day. Optional services include bathing or grooming assistance, medication management, arranging doctor appointments, transportation, and more.
48 spacious studio apartments are offered at Golden Age Home community. Assisted living is the perfect arrangement for those who may no longer be able to live safely at home but need only a little assistance to live an active quality of life. We offer a supportive housing community designed for those who need extra help in their day-to-day lives but who do not require the 24-hour skilled nursing care found in traditional nursing homes.
It is the goal of Golden Age Home to support the desire of its residents for an independent lifestyle. In some cases a resident will not be able to meet the standards of independence required by Golden Age Home. If such a resident is able and willing to hire or provide outside assistance in order to meet the standard, he or she may be eligible to remain at Golden Age Home. Examples of outside assistance include home health services, private caregivers, hospice, and family members who do personal services. Golden Age Home Team members may be able to assist with recommendations for these services.
COMMUNITY AMENITIES
- The spacious activity room serves as host to most events, (such as Christmas parties, guest speakers and more.) There is an area for riding stationary bikes, watching TV, and playing card/board games.
- Our on-site beauty salon gives residents the choice to stay in the community and have their hair done if they choose. Golden Age Home contracts a local beautician to operate an independent salon inside our facility. Pricing is set by the beautician and payments are rendered separately from Golden Age Home.
- Bible studies and worship services are held in our beautiful chapel. Golden Age Home is fortunate to have participation from a wide variety of churches/denominations. Residents can choose to attend one, all or none of these religious services. All Denominations welcomed here! Please see the activity calendar to participate in your preferred service.
- A large community room is located at the end of the office wing. This room is rented to various groups within the Lockhart community for gatherings for a small fee, and holds up to 50 people. It is also used to host some of our activities and parties.
- Residents enjoy dining together in the restaurant style dining room. Additionally, there is a salad bar offered during the noon meal and a soup appetizer for the evening meal. Visitors are welcomed to join our residents for a low cost.
- Numerous sitting areas give the residents and their visitors ample space to play table games, work on puzzles or chat over a cup of coffee.
- There are four sunrooms overlooking the Golden Age Home campus. These areas give the resident the feeling of sitting on the front porch all the while having the comfort of the indoors.
