Riverdale Assisted Living in Charlottesville, Virginia holds a special place in our hearts, as it was the first facility we acquired. Riverdale takes pride in the quality care and family atmosphere that we have provided to area seniors for over 30 years.
Residents and visitors are welcomed to Riverdale by the charm of a large old Magnolia tree and boxwoods in the front yard. The convenient in town location makes the facility easy to access and offers close proximity to both area hospitals. There is plenty of room for visiting on the front porch, two sun porches, or on one of the two deck areas. The two story building has resident rooms, sitting areas, and dining rooms on each floor.
Private rooms are perfectly suited for those who relish their privacy. Semi-private rooms with no more than two residents are also available. Room sizes vary allowing for rates to meet the financial needs of most people.
Riverdale furnishes all of the rooms; however, residents may bring their own furnishings. Riverdale provides all of the twin bed linens and bath linens for each resident. Personal belongings are encouraged to provide a true sense of home and comfort.
The Riverdale team is there to assist the residents 24 hours per day and consists of a Licensed Practical Nurse, trained nurse aides, registered medication aides, part-time activity director, dietary staff, and a maintenance director. The aides and the nurse assist with activities of daily living, (bathing, grooming, dressing, etc.) administering doctor ordered medications, assisting with ambulation and transferring and feeding when necessary. All of the staff are personally interviewed, have a Virginia criminal history background check, and references on file. The staff attends required continuing education through out the year. Riverdale also has a consulting pharmacist. Training is provided through in house sources, professional organizations and corporate meetings.
Three homemade meals a day are provided and snacks and beverages are available in between meals throughout the day. Riverdale prides it's self on the outstanding activity program that has been created. The activity director coordinates stimulating activities in the building and in the community on a daily basis. Riverdale is very involved with outside volunteers who bring fun and companionship into the lives of our residents. Residents can participate in group activities, enjoy musical groups, arts and crafts and other activities that cater to the residents' needs and desires. Friends and Family get tog ethers are held monthly and allow for families and residents to visit and spend time with the administrator.
Riverdale offers a sense of security and care from the administrator to the nursing aides and even the maintenance director. Residents feel safe in knowing they are cared for in this environment and all minds are put at ease.
