Emily Green Shores is a faith-based senior assisted living facility owned by the Portsmouth Baptist Association and located in Portsmouth, Virginia. Our facility rests on the Elizabeth River waterfront offering beautiful sunset views from our spacious sunroom facing the water. Emily Green Shores is much like home; a comfortable family setting where you can read a book in the living room, enjoy watching the boats on the waterfront from the porch, play cards after supper with your neighbors, and know that each day will be filled with caring hands and friendly, familiar faces.
Our assisted living residency is an ambulatory-only facility meaning our residents have the means to be able to move about on their own (non-wheelchair bound) and reasonably facilitate their own activities of daily living.
Our business philosophy is quite simple. We are in the business of caring for and fulfilling the needs of our residents. We want our residents and our employees to feel that they are appreciated.
Our goal is to equip the staff members of our facility with the necessary tools to provide each resident with an environment that is clean, secure and family-oriented.

We have in place a uniform and comprehensive set of guidelines that ensure that the facility complies with the Department of Social Services standards and regulations.

Services included in our monthly fee are:
- Medication Management by Registered Medication Aides
- Three (3) Meals and Daily Snacks Planned and Approved by a Registered Dietician
- Daily Resident Activities
- Housekeeping & Laundry Services
- Assistance with the Activities of Daily Living (ADL's)
Additional Services Include:
- Incontinent Services: For some residents, incontinence may become an issue from time-to-time. Special care for these incidents involve wearing adult soil prevention aids and associated materials that are not included with our monthly services, but can be provided.
- Hair Care & Styling Services: Our facility has a convenient, reputable in-house hair stylist that visits the facility every Wednesday and Thursday to perform hair care, cutting, styling, coloring, and perm services for residents that desire this service for an additional fee to the hairstylist.
- Medical Care Nearby: Bon Secours Hampton Roads Health Care | Maryview Medical Center is located less than a mile from the Emily Green Shores facility at 3636 High Street; our facility is also 1.5 miles from the Naval Medical Center - Portsmouth
