Saint Francis Home’s purpose is to offer life-enhancing care and services to seniors. Our leadership consults with prospective residents to determine the best option for their individual care needs. We strive to nurture the independence, dignity and autonomy of every resident within a hospitable atmosphere. Saint Francis Home is open to adults over the age of 50 without preference or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, or country of origin.
Saint Francis Home is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Social Services as an Assisted Living Facility. As such, residents do not require skilled nursing care, but may need supervision and/or assistance in some of their activities of daily living.
Saint Francis Home is part of a network of residential adult care centers affiliated with the Catholic Diocese of Richmond.
With sister properties in Virginia Beach, Charlottesville, Roanoke, and Richmond, the Diocese of Richmond supports facilities offering multiple levels of assisted living, nursing care, and on-site rehabilitation services.
The commitment to Franciscan ideals permeates the culture of Saint Francis Home. From the dedicated staff, administrators, friendly volunteers, and engaged Board of Directors, we are all focused on providing a loving, nurturing environment for our residents.
Residents are encouraged to take an active role in planning for their care, and to function at their highest level of independence. Residents must be ambulatory or semi-mobile (meaning they are mobile with the assistance of a walker or wheelchair), and capable of doing their own transferring and toileting.
