Cathedral Square is recognized nationally for our high-quality, affordable, service-enriched housing communities for older adults and people with special needs. Founded in 1977 in Burlington, Vermont, our nonprofit organization is dedicated to advancing “healthy homes, caring communities and positive aging” throughout Vermont and beyond our borders.
Cathedral Square Senior Living (CSSL) community offers the benefits of independent living at a choice location overlooking Lake Champlain in downtown Burlington. Conveniently located near the University of Vermont and the UVM Medical Center, the community offers 68 independent-living apartments, all of which are designed to be affordable to households with a variety of incomes. Attached to this building is Cathedral Square Assisted Living, available to those who require assistance with personal care activities and offers supportive services.
At the heart of our mission and values is compassion for the least among us. We believe everyone has a right to decent, affordable housing and the supports they need to live out their days in health and security. Our caring staff treats everyone with kindness and respect, and makes them feel welcome and valued. At every level, we work collectively to ensure that each resident lives in a safe and supportive home that is exactly that: a home.
