Our goal is to help residents stay active and involved, while supporting independence for as long as possible. Whether you’re a senior looking for a short-term stay or you’d like to settle down with us for good, we offer a wide range of facilities and services to manage the challenges and promote the joy of retired living in Vermont.
The Atkinson Residence is a non-profit, licensed Residential Care Home for elders. Opened in 1963 as an outreach program of the Vermont Conference of the United Church of Christ, the Atkinson accepts residents regardless of religious affiliation.
We strive to create a warm, congenial, family ambiance in a smoke-free, safe, and comfortable environment. Two common areas, a large dining room, and a three-season porch offer ample space for residents to entertain or relax. And our lovely grounds and garden invite outdoor activity.
A short walk away is the village store and cafe, post office, library, church, thrift shop, town offices, bank, elementary school, and beautiful common.
By the time many of our community members arrive at Frances Atkinson Residence, most require some degree of health and wellbeing monitoring. Our Retirement Home provides complimentary and customizable Physical Therapy services for everyone. By catering to the personal needs of each and everyone here, we hope to make the Frances Atkinson Residence feel like home.
