Our beautiful and comfortable memory care community is committed to being a leader in providing quality personal services to residents and families, becoming a true partner in care for those whose lives are influenced by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

We focus on knowing our residents’ life stories so we can create moments each day that are personally relevant and meaningful for them. We call this exclusive program Meaningful Moments® and the caregivers at Summer Wood Alzheimer’s Special Care Center are specifically trained in this style of care. We strive to share our circle of care with family members, friends and other specialists as needed to ensure the ultimate well-being of our memory care residents.

People living with memory loss face greater challenges than most of us. Being unable to remember life’s most cherished moments is a difficult path, but not a hopeless one. This allows our staff to create moments of real meaning that engage our residents emotionally, physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

It also helps bond caregivers to the resident, so they are able to see more than their current condition and recognize them for the singular and exceptional person they are. By creating this profound connection, Meaningful Moments establishes a strong foundation of trust and well-being from which residents are able to create new memories and thrive in an environment of exceptional care.

Utilizing our distinctive Meaningful Moments approach, our team provides a warm and meaningful assisted living environment that includes family and friends. Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s is a demanding role. For caregivers who need some time to run errands, take care of their own health needs, or just need a break to rejuvenate, Summer Wood provides the same compassionate care to our temporary residents as those who call us their home. Arranged into private, shared and semiprivate accommodations, our assisted living environment and caring staff provide meaningful moments to each resident. If you loved one needs a temporary home while recovering from an injury or hospitalization, we assist families through the recovery process and allow for caregiver relief. We are committed to honoring the experience of aging by ensuring that each resident’s life story is incorporated into their individual respite care design.
