COLLINWOOD is a State Licensed community based residential facilities (CBRF) providing care and services for senior citizens and/or disabled adults. Our homes, located in Brodhead, is a single-story, handicapped accessible structure. Private and semi-private rooms accommodate ambulatory, semi-ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents. Large dining room, family room and visiting rooms provide a home-like atmosphere. A beauty salon is also available to our residents.
Modern security equipment, smoke and fire alarms, resident call lights, sprinkler system and lighted hallways are in place to ensure residents safety and security.
At COLLINWOOD, our residents are treated with the dignity and respect our senior citizens deserve. We are always open to suggestions from family and friends, relative to our residents' care.
Our services are specially designed to meet the needs of the adult with a dementia, such as Alzheimer's Disease; a physical disability, such as results from a stroke or Parkinson's Disease; or who because of chronic illness spent long periods of time in institutions and are now ready for a less restrictive setting.
At Collinwood, our goal is to provide services with a personal touch to assist residents with maintaining their highest level of functionality. Each resident is treated with dignity and respect, just as if they were our own parents.
24-Hour Assistance by Trained Staff
Our staff members are provided with CBRF First Aid and Fire Safety training and we have a Registered Nurse on staff. Family members will find the staff ready to assist everyone concerned in the adjustment to group home living.
Household Services
Each resident is provided with private or semi-private bedrooms. We provide three home-cooked meals from a menu created by a Registered Dietician and snacks which meet daily nutritional requirements. COLLINWOOD also provides daily laundry and housekeeping services.
Health Monitoring
COLLINWOOD monitors any health changes and has ongoing communication between staff and the resident's physician to maintain and ensure "quality care."
Medication Management
Medications and/or treatments are ordered by the resident's physician. Storage of the medications is in a secure place. Medications are distributed to the resident for self-administration as prescribed. A daily record is kept on each resident.
Leisure and Socializing
Leisure and social activities are organized to meet the needs of all our residents. We welcome volunteers.
Respite Care
COLLINWOOD'S Respite Care Program offers everything in our regular service plan on a "temporary basis" (as space allows). It can be used for a weekend, a week or up to a month, for someone recuperating from a hospital stay, a temporary illness or if the regular caregiver needs "time off."
