For over 50 years, Cedar Crest in Janesville has been South Central Wisconsin’s life plan community of choice for people aged 55 and better. once you make the decision that come to Cedar Crest no matter what happens to you health-wise you need assistance assistance living you need to go into health care your needs are met all in one facility you don't have to be concerned with packing up at some point in your life and moving to another facility for for care so you always stay in that familiar environment once you make the decision Cedar Crest is right for me because it meets all of my ongoing interest and activities and gives me that security I had mentioned Cedar Crest is right for me because it seems like home there's plenty of chance for me to be independent if I want to be independent if I want to go for a walk outside there's beautiful facilities to walk and have it be quiet if I want to be with people there are plenty of places for me to be with people so it allows me to be me

the activities are so good for me because we have a wellness teacher on staff who makes us she doesn't make us but I didn't lift lifting weights like I've never lifted weights before we do Zumba dance in which all is for teenagers and we started a drum circle which is really exciting and the movies are good they're the food is good but you can live your independent life I go travelling and all I do is shut my door in my apartment I don't have to have someone get the mail and shovel the snow and and all those things I just shut my door and it's very relaxing oh you have a place to come back to and it's yours in downsizing was the best thing I've ever done so that's why I move there and I'm Kathy I did and it's just amazing the things that are available like book club I love book club there's a book club there so you can do as much as you want and the people are really nice somebody came up to me and said why are you here because I look younger and and I said well because I have Parkinsons for 12 years and I've been widowed for five years and I didn't realize how lonely i really was being alone and so that's I get the big reason why they're more people and activities and never being alone Cedar Crest is right for me because i have found serenity

i also had one other concern is how we would fit in with the other residents in the apartments we realized that we were probably some of the younger people that would be moving in but that worry was not shown to be true the people here at Cedarcrest the residents are as friendly a group as you could ever ask to be wet they took us in and talked with us and welcomed us like we were family it's been quite a it's one of the things that I have really been surprised that the people really wanted to meet us and have us in their group we found through that possessions and that are are not what make you happy and their relationships that we have formed with the people here and so on bring a lot more happiness to us than anything that we gave away
