Home Care in Illinois

How do I become a paid caregiver for a family member in Illinois?

The Illinois Department on Aging and Aging Network focuses on providing help for caregivers throughout the state. If the family member whom you are caring for is enrolled in the community care program, they can choose who their caregiver is. People who are Medicaid and non-Medicaid eligible can be in the program.

Does Illinois Medicaid pay for in-home care?

Depending on your age, diagnosis or financial status, Medicare or Medicaid may pay for care in the home. Persons who are under age 60 and have severe disabilities may qualify for the Illinois Department of Human Services' Home Services Program.
