In order to provide a loving environment we focus on three areas of care. The first objective is to understand our resident’s needs in terms of medical care and their everyday life issues. We do this by intimately understanding what their objectives are, how much care they require to achieve the most independence possible. We see ourselves as the eyes and ears of a process that involves constant evaluation of any changes in their appearance, mood, eating, emotional or physical status and we communicate with detail our evaluations to the interested parties like their doctors and family. Our objectives will vary based on a resident’s needs but we always strive for the highest level of care.
Secondly, we have the best food. Our residents eat homemade soups, sandwiches with fresh deli meats and dinners include a variety of fine cuisines with the occasional pizza night or barbeque. We are sensitive to our residents likes and dislikes and will provide an alternative option if we are aware of another preference. We spoil our resident family with fresh ground coffee that is imported from Panama, Colombia, Peru or other fine coffee-growing countries. Often homemade pies and other baked goods find their way to the table, we believe at this stage in their lives we ought to strive for the best culinary experience a home can provide.
And finally, unlike many care homes in the Valley, we don’t operate with many rules. There are no strict visiting hours. Meal times are negotiable and we maintain flexibility in providing a care plan for each resident that allows them to live their lives with as much independence as possible. We advocate this philosophy when working with doctors and other professionals on a resident’s medical team.
Life’s Blessings has one of the few homes that often receives referrals from Hospice organizations and other non-profit groups that only refer to the best. We have had a number of doctors and nurses place their family members in our care. We have worked hard for our reputation and we value it! Our residents are a diverse group of individuals including retired teachers, nurses, doctors, baseball players, mucisians and people from all walks of life.
