Silverado Brea is an energetic assisted living community in Brea, California. It is within dynamic Orange County which is part of the Golden State.

The Silverado Brea Memory Care Community has been designed to serve 70 people with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-impairing conditions.

Joining the existing Silverado communities in Tustin, Costa Mesa and San Juan Capistrano, the Brea community fulfills the need for Silverado's innovative care in north Orange County. The property features indoor space specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the memory impaired, as well as outside space purposefully built to give residents the freedom to enjoy the outdoors. The overall design serves to bring the Silverado experience to residents and their families, providing the individuals we serves with dignity, respect and the best quality of life possible.

Specializing in memory care and dementia care allows us to provide for residents whose needs have grown beyond what more generalized senior living communities offer. Our philosophy is built around offering a skilled staff that delivers the best care possible, enriching lives and focusing on the wellbeing of residents’ minds, spirits and bodies.

While it exists under the umbrella of assisted living, memory care includes a higher degree of clinical care to provide for the special needs of those with Alzheimer’s, Lewy Body, Parkinson’s and other dementia-causing disorders. Memory care is often provided in a separate area of an assisted living facility, though some providers such as Silverado operate facilities wholly dedicated to it.

Due to the necessities of caring for those with dementia, memory care generally includes these services:

• Skilled 24-hour care, supervision and personal assistance with activities of daily living
• Activities and programs to help residents retain cognitive function
• Exercises, therapy and physical activities to retain physical abilities
• Health management, including medication management and specialists in preventing common dementia-related complications
• Specially-designed surroundings to keep residents safe
• Neighborhoods providing different levels of care to meet the needs of residents at different stages of the disease (at Silverado these are Nexus, Enrichment and Sensory)

Each community provides expert clinical care led by a Physician Medical Director (many memory care providers have only one medical director for their entire company – we have one at each community). Licensed nurses are on-site around the clock. Every Silverado associate receives training in dementia and how it affects the residents with whom they work. The communities are arranged into three neighborhoods providing different levels of care to meet the needs of residents at different stages of the disease (Nexus, Enrichment and Sensory).

Communities provide a warm, comfortable environment that features pets and often children. Independence and socializing are encouraged as ways to help residents maintain function and ability.
