Bethesda

Bethesda has been operating as a full-care home since 1972, incorporated under the non-profit laws of the State of California. Bethesda was formed for the purpose of operating a senior living center for the benefit and care of retired Christian adults.

Centrally located in Hayward, Bethesda is an ideal place for a retiring adult who desires the proper balance of solitude, programmed activity, warm friendship, Christian fellowship, and convenience. Our dedicated staff of over 65 full- and part-time employees are committed to provide comfort, friendship, and loving care for all our residents.

Well-maintained gardens and walkways give residents pleasant areas to relax and walk in. Special gardening plots are available for those with a green thumb.

For those in our Independent Living units, there are a variety of shopping and restaurants in walking distance, including a large public library.

A 40-bed skilled nursing unit offers that extra-special care often needed by older citizens. Most rooms in the skilled nursing unit have two beds. A limited number of private rooms are available at extra cost. The skilled nursing rate includes room, board, and routine nursing care. Prescription drugs, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and laboratory work are all obtained from outside resources here at Bethesda. As a fully licensed facility with the State of California, we are able to accept Medicare and/or Medi-Cal as payment sources for those who qualify.

Cheerful residential units in Bethesda's retirement section offer an ideal home for seniors who are able to enjoy independent or assisted living. The accommodations include rooms in the main building and surrounding cottages.

Three nutritious meals daily are served family style in cheerful surroundings. Our cooks and dietitian see to it that Bethesda residents are properly nourished, taking into account special dietary requirements.
