hello my name is Maria schebler I'm the executive director here at mana desta village I would like to welcome you this is my lemon grove history minute Monte Vista was that it started building in 1958 and it opened in 1963 we service I don't know how many hundreds of residents we service throughout the years we have a hundred and four apartments of independent living we have 26 bits of assisted living and we also have 21 bits of skill nursing for any of our residents to enjoy part of the reason to mix one of this that's so great is the gardens the gardens we have are almost on a difference of land 17 separate buildings in all single storey so when you open your door to your front when you open your front door you are out into the garden area the other the other reason the mix modernist is special is our staff I would I would say about 40 to 50 percent of our staff have five years or longer the longevity here is pretty great myself I've been here 13 years in 1972 our community was acquired by mr. Sidney Goodman part of the good man group and has been on their portfolio ever since that's unheard of in our industry so we're very happy so the continuing of management it's really great all right some of the things that we get involved in the community this year is our second year hosting the Meals on Wheels Tea Party they're a fundraising event and this year will also be our 12th year hosting the military the active military five and below I will be 12 years where we provide a complete Christmas dinner for them we have Santa Claus we have presents for all the families and of course Santa Claus has to give a little something to the kids our residents need caps for them to take home with them so it's very very special we also have a couple of our residents going out to the community and reading to the children in our local school and I would just like to welcome anybody who would like to volunteer to come and visit Monta Vista I think you're really going to love it thank you [Music] you [Music]
