Life Quality Homes was founded in 1991 by John and Lisa Schonewill after John’s mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at the age of 55.
After 4 years of struggling to provide care, they had a vision of creating an intimate living environment for seniors who suffered from memory impairment. They established Life Quality Homes, a boutique of microcommunities that offer peace, security, and dignity in a home setting. After 23 years, John and Lisa were ready to pursue other interests, but were unwilling to sell Life Quality Homes to a large corporation, or an individual who might not carry out their vision of intimate community living with exceptional care. At that time, the Nicoll brothers moved their mom into Life Quality Homes, and were interested in pursuing new business opportunities.
The Nicoll family was impressed by the care that was provided to their mother at Life Quality Homes and witnessed the transformation of her quality of life as she transitioned from a large facility to the quaint environment of Life Quality Homes. In March of 2014, the Nicoll family purchased Life Quality Homes and continues to provide quality care to residents and their families. The Nicoll’s passion for community living with exceptional care is reflected in their continued commitment to support and empower their employees and ensure quality of life for their residents and peace of mind for family members.
Settled within beautiful neighborhoods in the Broadmoor and near the bluffs open space, the boutique communities of Life Quality Homes provide a secure environment with a personal touch to seniors who suffer from memory impairment caused by Alzheimer’s and other dementia related illnesses.
Nestled near Cheyenne Creek in the quaint neighborhood of Cheyenne Canyon, this home features a secure backyard with a manicured lawn, covered patio, and vegetable and flower gardens for residents to enjoy.
Our boutique home settings provide seniors with memory impairment the opportunity to thrive and maintain their sense of independence compared to hospital-like settings. Our residents are able to enjoy the comforts of home such as planting flowers in the backyard, taking walks around the neighborhood, baking in their “own” kitchen, dining at a quaint dining room table with familiar faces at each meal, and relaxing in their favorite chair. This intimate, home-like setting makes for a smooth transition from their home to a place like home and provides family members with peace of mind knowing that their loved one is content and well taken care of in their new environment.
