We provide compassionate transitional health care to Iowans at all walks of life, and we also care for the family's wellbeing. We are committed to providing compassionate, dignified and custom care for almost any need. Eldora Specialty Care is a 49-bed skilled nursing facility offering rehabilitation services, skilled nursing care, long term care and hospice care.
Helping Hands – Caring Hearts is our motto. It is at the core of every aspect of Eldora Specialty Care. It is the most important aspect of our professional nursing staff, our therapists, our cooks and those who have direct care of our residents.
The wall to wall carpeting in the hallways, of our care center and assisted living apartment complex, creates a feeling of home – calm, quiet, and relaxing. Residents even choose their own individualized meals.
Eight apartments designated for assisted living are the end of one wing. Another 32 beds are in private and semi-private skilled nursing area with short-term patients located nearest to our state-of-the-art therapy room where our therapist’s care for outpatient clients. Seventeen beds are reserved for memory care patients in a safe, secure, relaxed environment to promote a peaceful quiet setting. One-on-one activities are planned daily with each resident here to engage them in low-stimulation interaction.
Situated at the edge of town, our residents and staff enjoy the beauty of Iowa. A fenced in courtyard invites gardeners to participate in a favorite pastime. Located nearby is Pine Lake State Park and there’s always at least a few fishing trips during the warm season. A variety of entertainers visit frequently. A monthly birthday party allows all residents to give their best wishes to the guests of honor. Holidays are also marked with festivities. And no one misses Bingo, held twice a week.
“Our staff is truly our greatest asset,” says Administrator Susan Eichmeier. “We have a lot of longevity among the staff. And we really do embody a sense of family.” We take pride in helping each resident function as independently as possible with the goal of returning home. But when we are needed, we are right there to help.
