Winding Creek Meadows is a quaint assisted living community in Jesup, Iowa. It is within appealing Buchanan County which is part of the Hawkeye State.
The idea of Winding Creek Meadows started several years ago. A lifelong Jesup resident had to move away when he needed assisted living. Community members wanted to make sure that needn’t ever happen again.
They created a non-profit group, Jesup Retirement Living, Inc.; conducted a feasibility study; bought land; hired an architect; and raised money for an assisted living community. They also sought a partner with expertise in daily operations.
Western Home Communities, also a non-profit, was established in 1912. Some 850 residents live on its two campuses in Cedar Falls, where services include independent living, assisted living, memory support assisted living, nursing care, skilled rehab and atHome with Western Home.

Each one- and two-bedroom apartment home features a spacious living room with plenty of space for your favorite furniture. A beautiful bay window offers a nice view outside. You control the heating and cooling in your apartment to your own liking. The spacious bathroom includes a linen closet and walk-in shower with seating.
You'll have a kitchenette but don't need to cook, since three delicious homemade meals are provided each day in the dining room. Suzanne and the kitchen team take pride in serving you their very best. Employees clean your apartment each week and do your laundry, too! You have less to worry about and more to enjoy.
Whether you love listening to music, learning, volunteering, spending time with children, or shopping, Winding Creek Meadows offers a full social life.
We enjoy regular visits from the Fontana Nature Center, the Jesup Singers, talented musicians and school children. We often bake goodies in the private dining room that has a full kitchen.
Our library includes current books and magazines, plus puzzles, games and a NuStep exercise machine. Donna teaches wellness classes designed for anyone's fitness level. Did we mention card games? Any day of the week, you're likely to find a rousing game going on.
