Edencrest Retirement Communities are certified Assisted Living and Memory Care communities by the state of Iowa. That means we are able to provide assistance with resident’s Activities of Daily Living. Some residents my find they do not require any assistance, others may want medication management, assistance with dressing, bathing, hygiene or ambulation. Prior to move in our nurse will complete an assessment with each resident to identify what services are needed. This will allow us to create an Individualized Service Plan.

We offer state-certified Assisted Living apartments for those who are looking to live life to the fullest at any stage of retirement. Our Assisted Living program is designed with our residents’ wishes in mind. From the restaurant-style meals we prepare in-house, to the activities on our life enrichment calendar of events, our program is completely resident-driven. Pair this consideration with our individualized health care services and you have the ultimate choice for senior care and housing.

Edencrest Assisted Living and Memory Care communities are dedicated to Senior Care Excellence. We understand that it’s the little things that separate us from the others. That is why we have developed a “Closer Care” option for residents in between Assisted Living and Memory Care. Closer Care is an opportunity for your loved one, who may have higher care needs or be in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, a safe, secure option. With increased staffing and a more structured environment, our goal is to provide an area with increased autonomy and quality of life.

At Edencrest, our Memory Care Program follows a social model. The Health Care Coordinator works with residents and their support systems to create a customized service plan that focuses on the abilities of each individual. Our Resident Assistants are provided guided instruction and hands-on training to provide residents with meaningful experiences and purposeful activities designed to improve their quality of life. Our Health Care Coordinator and Resident Assistants receive specific training to ensure our Memory Care Program is soothing, interactive, and welcoming. Activities are planned to touch on the physical, spiritual, occupational, emotional and intellectual levels of the person living with dementia. Residents are treated with dignity and respect, make their own choices, and live their life to the fullest.

We understand that making a move to a retirement community can be a big decision; one that you don’t enter into lightly. That’s why we offer short-term stays to ensure you are making the right decision! Our Respite Program is designed for individuals who need supervision and/or services for a short period of time, typically a minimum of three days and a maximum of 30 days. Your respite stay services include all of the same services one would receive as a resident in our community. The Respite Program is ideal for those who have a caregiver out of town, a spouse in the hospital or someone who needs additional recuperation time from a hospital stay. Our respite suite is beautifully furnished and has all the comforts of home.
