I'm bellboys and we moved here from Goshen Indiana where we had a condo and we're living here at Lake sighs and we always knew he wanted to be in a college town and there's a lot of activity here and things are moving and we like lakeside because of the restaurant you'd have college kids come in and growing the Wellness Center college kids you see babies outside you see roller bladers you know it's not just old people we're held and Margaret win singer and we live on arboretum drive we spend burn any number of months away in the winter time in South Texas so this allows us to do that be concerned about our place so when we downsized and came here we just didn't have any problem with that we just turn off the water and call the villa and let them know that we're gone and things are taken care of while we're gone so it's just a real releasing thing for us to be able to go like this well I'm Joyce wiggers and I'm Mel wiggers the transition was beautiful because we did the moving when we're young enough to feel like moving fact after it took me out oh maybe a year to give into doing this and when I made it my mind I have never been sorry since I'm bill Armfield we live here on the lakeside village married mary and i are recently married we're he was and of course we met here on the campus and I was heard the community was nice but I got here because I was hunting a place for my mother Edith and I that's my first wife and I came up here to open house and before we left here we had signed a contract where that I enjoy crocheting needlepoint cross stitch and that kind of thing and I've had more time to do that we thoroughly enjoy doing some volunteer work which we do in the community and around vanilla we have a small garden spot behind our flower bed it back here because it's open field back there and so don't bother anybody and then I also have a spot in the community garden about a block away the freedom you have of time allows you to do the things that you never really had the time to do before one thing I love to do in the summer is mel and i have an ice cream social on our driveway for art sarkar cluster but i like the patio and the flowers I'd like to do the flowers out there that's and people join me out there you know and I mean Kristen you'll have two or three people or sometimes need you know say hey there's watermelon come on down you know or whatever so that's a good social place for me and it's my therapy to take care of the flowers so I love that yeah it's just a short walk to the college we've enjoyed taking classes at the college we enjoy going to the snack shop at the college also all their music programs their plays the Arboretum is also in walking distance and we don't cross street through them we just walk straight across it's just you know open air its nature we go to concerts there sometimes there's lectures there I like it because we see friends with least every day or every 2-3 nation we meet people from not just this community but they move in februar each neighborhood has a clustering what they call a cluster group and it's a group of families that couple's or individual's that lived together in one area and they meet on a monthly basis and that has really been an asset for us is really enjoyable for us and we learn to know everybody that lives close by never had a fiddle in the hand until it was talking about the ease with deadmau5 I've been taking lessons about five years I got to say pretty good you're getting pretty he didn't better better better better better we also really enjoy the fact that we're just across the street from the Wellness Center and with all of the things that the Wellness Center has to offer for us an exercise in door walking trail and swimming pool and all of the other activities restaurants and that is just such an asset to be right across the street from that and then our backyard at the Arboretum yes that has so much to offer for a small town I can get on the bike and ride it within a few minutes anywhere in town with my bike at a maximum hardware store we have an excellent grocery store we have restaurants that towns three or four times the size would never have we also have our doctor here in town as well as our eye doctor and our dentist and a pharmacy if we do want to go to a larger city or 30 minutes away from Wichita has all of the arts and medical services that you could possibly want to have and shopping plus it's easy living oh it's you don't have to worry about anything that was the big thing for me the one thing that I I think we appreciate is that the help we get from the villa and into the maintenance department this morning her washer quit they were right here the response time on on it that kind of an issue is very very good no before it's too late and move while you can both move together and Jim and I did that and he's not here anymore you've got independent living you do your thing and tell you no longer can do your thing then you have the option of moving to assisted living you make the decision and things just are there to happen as you need it I think we're prepared for that we we feel comfortable there at what they were where with that everything here is beautiful I say if if you're hunting for some places professional this place is it if the person is living alone I always home you just won't be nearer lonely because of the community here in Kansas the whether you accept sunshine almost every day and Jim love that and and I like the prairies in the Sun sets is just wonderful and we sit on the patio to watch that and I always told them you'll love it you just don't love it and I think they do probably the main reason we decided to come here because Marvis folks made that decision and they just basically downsize to nearly nothing it was down here and we're able to make all those decisions on their own without us having to do that for them and as time went by we realized how great a gift that was to us have them do that for us and so from that time on we've always planned to come here and give that same kind of gift to our shoulder you
