[Music] I'm Margaret temp I've been here since September of 2016 I'm Bob Barnes I've lived at crush wood for nine years and I'm Bettina boss and I've lived at Christ's away I'm Pat Smith and I'm friendly lived here 10 months yesterday I didn't want my children to have to say what are we going to do with mom so that's why I want to do it cause I wanted to do it well I was able to choose where I wanted to go we're exactly where we ought to be fantastic we are party people and we have a party every day lots of good friends that's a good food and they take such good care of us didn't to do a lot of things for us we don't have any children and so we didn't want to try to depend on nieces and nephews or Fred's two sisters so we decided we had to depend on ourselves so he took matters in his own and took care of all the finances and all and found that this place seemed to be the best place for us I go the dining rooms about at least four times a week sometimes more on the pen and I go with my different friends and we meet at the dining room and well it's like we hadn't seen each other in a year but we've seen each other the day before I also love the exercise classes that make you leg stronger and you could fall a lot when you're done my balance is bad so I take exercise I hate it but finally did you know I didn't know it would help me at that age I know if staff is really excellent I don't know how they attract all these people when we moved in I was ready in fact the maintenance people that were hanging the pictures couldn't believe he said half the time the women standing oh I don't know I think I wanted them but maybe I wanted that you know and I just told them where I wanted it and they hung it up didn't take any time and I'm very happy to be here I'm thoroughly enjoying being here with my wonderful friends I'm delighted to be here and love my life in Christ which I'm very happy to be here I have enjoyed every minute so far and I hope Bowman and Joel man I've enjoyed my experience here in Christ Lloyd I find advice overall Rumi hasn't seen very much where I lived before except all weekend I'm a long time and it's always a nice choice [Music]

[Music] my name is Randy Becnel I'm the wellness director here at Christ's wood and I've been here for five years working with the seniors it's just a passion for me I think it's something I was born to do and I get the joy of making sure that they have a quality of life that they deserve [Music] we do a seasonal Fitness evaluation and from there we can determine or what type of exercise they should be doing now we know it at their age we do a lot of balance deficiencies so I think the balance class that we did here at then we still do it here at Christ's wood is very important and we're seeing some some improvements now are they gonna get full balance back probably not but if they can maintain what they have now their quality of life is just gonna be perfect for the duration here at Christ wood it gets a chance for people in the community to see what Christ was all about our residents have really opened their arms to the outside members we've had some members actually befriend some of the residents here and gone on vacations together I mean that is just wonderful it sends a message out to the community that Christ would is a part of the community and then we're here for a long time here at Christ where we have a 25 yard swimming pool it's heated it's 87 degrees so we have a lot of residents who have a lot of bone and joint issues so the pool is a wonderful place for them to come here and help them with their exercise and help them with that off the rioters so if they've had a hip replacement or a knee replacement that's what they need more than being on land-based exercise the pool is probably the premier thing here at Spicewood community center my approach is all about having fun if you can't enjoy what you're doing as a job or what you're doing and you come to a a wellness center or health club you shouldn't be here I mean fun is the is the part of it that keeps me engaged and we get a lot more success out of it my name is Randy Beck now and I'm just gracious to be part of the Christ would too [Music]
