Railside Assisted Living Center

Railside Assisted Living Center, located in Byron Center, Michigan, offers a variety of services and amenities to meet your assisted living needs. In addition to housekeeping, laundry service, and daily meals, Railside offers support services personalized to the individual needs of our residents, including specialized care for those suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other forms of memory impairment.

Railside Assisted Living Center is fully licensed as a Home for the Aged by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MMDHHS). Our staff is carefully vetted and thoroughly trained to care for and monitor our residents’ physical and mental well-being.

At Railside Assisted Living Center, our mission is to provide a home-like setting for senior adults in our care. We seek to provide an environment that fosters the social and psychological development of residents, is as unrestricted as possible, and enables residents to maintain their independence and dignity.

To ensure the happiness and well-being of each of our residents, we provide the following services, all included in our basic monthly fee. Our staff is available at all times to assist residents with any personal needs, planned or unplanned.

Meals are a social experience at Railside. Three meals are served daily in our elegant community dining room, though residents may choose to dine in their rooms, for a modest charge. Friends and family are also welcome to join residents for meals, any time, for a nominal fee.

Our meals are home-cooked and healthy, designed to meet the nutritional needs of our residents. A hot breakfast is served, to order, between 7 and 9 a.m.; cold breakfast items are available to late risers after 9 a.m. Lunch is served at noon, the main meal of the day at Railside. Lighter fare is served at supper, from 5 p.m.–6 p.m.

Delicious and healthy snacks are available all day, every day! We have homemade baked goods, sandwiches, fresh fruit, ice cream, a variety of hot and cold beverages, and more available to our residents, whenever they’d like.

Whether you need medication administered by a staff member, a reminder to take your medication, or just help getting your medication container open (child-proof caps are impossible!) Railside staff can assist you, 24 hours a day. Medication assistance is supervised by a registered nurse.

Every day we take time to chat with our residents to see how they’re doing, as well as deliver mail and newspapers.

Our friendly and courteous maintenance staff is available to perform annoying yet necessary tasks such as adjusting the thermostat, changing light bulbs, and hanging pictures, as well as more serious maintenance concerns.

Our housekeepers are thorough and conscientious, treating residents’ spaces and property with delicacy and respect. Our housekeeping activities occur on the following schedule:
