In fact, in many cases, adding enhanced services and increasing care allows an individual to remain in our homelike setting and avoid the nursing home entirely.
Our assisted living & dementia care community offers the only enhanced assisted living license in the Adirondacks as well as throughout the greater Plattsburgh area. Champlain Valley Senior Community's enhanced license enables our caring and friendly staff to administer a higher level of nursing care than a typical assisted living and memory care residence, effectively bridging the gap between traditional assisted living and nursing homes. In our Community, as individual needs increase, our licensed staff are able to perform a variety of nursing home services including diabetic care & management, oxygen management, incontinence management, transfer and ambulation assistance, medical equipment management including catheter and colostomy care, feeding assistance, wound care and nursing assessments, among other skilled nursing services.
The Champlain Valley Senior Community boasts an enhanced license, meaning we can provide select skilled nursing services to our residents – either as they age or when they're admitted. We are the only enhanced assisted living community in the Adirondacks and the only one throughout Essex, Clinton and Franklin counties that can accommodate seniors with specific and often more complex medical needs. With both RNs and LPNs on staff, our enhanced residents receive the attention they need to remain in our homelike setting for longer than they would otherwise be able to.
Our secure memory care center is designed specially for residents with Alzheimer's and other memory impairments. With an intimate, purposeful design, the unit offers a homelike setting and features elevated staffing levels for around-the-clock supervision & assistance, along with a diverse activities program. We understand that each individual has distinct needs and preferences and we work to maintain every resident's independence, foster a culture of personal choice and ensure a sense of safety and security.
