Shenandoah Senior Living Community is the only Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in the area. The Community offers skilled, compassionate care in a vibrant, newly renovated setting, conveniently located in North Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
The campus offers a 124 bed Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 23 bed Personal Care Facility and Independent Living Suites. It is fully staffed by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants and other licensed healthcare professionals to ensure skilled, quality care.

my name is Trent flick I'm the administrator of shenandoah senior living community we are a continuing care retirement community which means we offer three levels of care independent living personal care and skilled nursing what I've found is because we offer these three levels of care it significantly minimizes the challenges that a resident would face as their health care needs change in most cases they would have to be transitioned to a different facility but because we offer three levels of care on site we're able to avoid such issues so I do love what I do i do I work in a great place the great environment with great people we're a close-knit family and I do believe that we all treat the residents with dignity and respect that they deserve everybody is someone's grandparent and that's the way they should be treated the rooms are very homey they can kind of decorate them themselves and make it their own tiny piece of home I work in a restorative department and we ambulate the residents in the hallways to the bathroom we also do active range of motion at the bedside and passive range of motion at the bedside to keep their extremities moving all the staff members are advocates for the residents it's fulfilling to take care of the residents here and to keep them mobile at their highest point where eventually they yet they could do it themselves we take care of all of our long-term care residents could be anything from you know splinting to contractor management to getting them a new wheelchair ambulation transfers anything that we monitor on a quarterly basis if they have a decline or increase in any of those their skill set we're notified from nursing and then we get involved to you know return them to their prior level function as soon as we you know soon as they can you make sure they meet all the nutritional needs but have also what other things they like to eat also perogies ho aashiqui co bossy because a lot of the residents are from our school county area so who try to incorporate meals that they would make it home for their family you know they can come to the kitchen anytime and ask for a coffee there's a couple ladies that come every day at three thirty and ask for coffee and cookies I mean they don't have to wait to eat whatever they want we make sure that they have it when they want it my husband had Parkinson's for 17 years and when I had it put him in a nursing home I looked at several and with the minute I walked in the door here I knew that this was the place I wanted them to be because it was so clean and the staff were so friendly to me I thought the food was excellent many times I ate lunch with him and he was well taken care of I just felt why should I sit at home when I could be of service to somebody I do a little bit of everything I work with the activities I visit the residence I collect books and and I bring them into the people who like to read magazines I walk people around I'm older and I could relate to these people and I could put a smile on their face this is a great place to be if you need to put a loved one in the nursing home I guess is where i would suggest they go we have our birthday parties Thursday's we have all we celebrate all holidays when nothing to do I'll go out and talk with the people they tell me I'm the storyteller I'll tell you the truth I really enjoys to me it's like home as the administrator my goal is to provide a community environment where the sole focus is to provide high-quality individualized personal care as a team here we strive to make a positive impact on our residents and their families
