Our Moments Program allows each resident to feel valued, successful, peaceful, cared for, and loved. The foundation of this program is an understanding that each resident is different. We create meaningful moments every day.

We need a complete program that reflects these differences, not just a one size fits all schedule from 9am – 5pm.

We take the time to learn about each resident’s past and present to create more purposeful programming.

Each activity utilizes Parallel Programming allowing for residents with different needs, interests, and abilities to partake in activities that foster a feeling of success.

We give all staff members permission to make every day activities meaningful and not just tasks that need to be checked off of a list. We really know our staff members and their individual interests, so this freedom provides them constant opportunities to adapt activities by taking advantage of their individual competencies. Everyone benefits and our team members feel a sense of pride in sharing their interests and talents.

We take into account opportunities for sensory stimulation focusing on sight, smell, temperature, touch, and hearing, to create more meaningful communication with our residents as well as reducing behaviors and agitation.

Here at Welbrook we understand the human desire for favorite foods and the physiological need for nutrition and hydration. It’s an important part of our social being and daily life. We have worked to design a philosophy and approach to dining that is able to adjust throughout the day to meet the many differing needs of each resident.

The Vigil System uses passive sensors to monitor the movement of individuals while in their apartments. It then gathers the information about each resident’s activities and alerts caregivers when these activities are outside of their normal or safe behavior patterns.

We use the Vigil system to help maintain as calm and home-like environment as possible. The unobtrusive sensors and silent paging remove the need for audible alarms or flashing lights that would agitate anyone with or without memory issues. By providing unobtrusive monitoring without the noise and institutional feel inherent in many nurse call technologies, the Vigil System allows your loved one’s new home to be just that, a home.
