when I decided to move here I realized that I only was changing my address I maintained my independence without any of the responsibilities I had before I wanted to learn all the wonderful activities that were possible I wanted to get to know people while I was still fairly healthy I come to the fitness center almost every day of the week and it takes about five minutes to come over here they have instructors there and they're very helpful to me when you pull down relax your shoulders I'd like to be active and have some sort of a thought a regimen to improve my physical fitness I love to swim and I just love the swimming pool here I think it's God's special gift to me it's better to get in this place ten years too early than a week too late and the children were really glad that he heard that because they feel at peace about where we are and they don't have to worry about how we're gonna be taken care of we've even had to have care already he had an emergency and we had a safety man here within five minutes I had been a high school math teacher and I had a pension which hopefully will continue and I knew that I would be able to fortunately afford to live here the idea that even if I ran out of money I would be able to stay here was critical in my decision okay I'll be there don't worry about it for those of us who drive it's typical that we keep in touch with our church community and our neighbors in the neighborhood I go back to the neighborhood parties and anytime someone invites me there I always go the cars more often not in the parking place than it is they still teach cursive the place we live in Tunis cottages very much like the way we lived in our home of 37 years one difference there's no stairs there is a wealth of activities for anyone to enjoy I have been to the Friday afternoon movie with popcorn they go to plays downtown we have computer classes twice a week they go over to Northwestern for the music and play the plays the proper decision is to call it a crude there is a lot of intellectual stimulation here in fact so much can't keep up with it all my intellectual stimulation is more over the dinner table with friends there's some incredible people living here with incredible stories to tell among the things I have participated in here is the eating activities I think the food is terrific like I just faxed its dr. Philip erm we do feel a lot of comfort having the pharmacy in the clinic here it's a big part of the continuous care for our medical needs the Elliot Chapel is so beautiful it's hard to believe the chapel means a great deal to us it's not just Presbyterian this is a place for people of all religions in all faiths backgrounds when I moved in here I didn't feel a sense of loss I found it liberating yeah it was didn't have to take care of a house worried about maintenance taxes the whole nine yards it's a place where staff and residents blend together as a family and it just feels like home I have never from the moment I moved in doubted that this wasn't a wonderful move for me to make you
