Orchard Estates is a lovely assisted living community in Glencoe, Minnesota. It is within charming McLeod County which is part of the North Star State.
Orchard Estates is registered with the State of Minnesota as a “housing with services” establishment. That means we do much more than put a roof over your head, but less than a nursing home, memory care or assisted living provider could do.
To choose Orchard Estates, you must be 55 years of age (or better). You must also be able to take care of your own needs of daily living or be able to obtain assistance with daily living. That assistance could be provided by a loved one who lives with you, a home health care provider or other outside resource.
- Every senior housing facility develops its own criteria to help ensure a good fit between potential tenants and the facility. Orchard Estates’ criteria cover a variety of expectations, such as a tenant’s ability to:
- Safely prepare meals and operate appliances, or obtain necessary help to do so
- Take care of personal needs such as bathing, grooming and laundry, or obtain necessary help to do so
- Move around safely or use any necessary support equipment independently

- Keep your kitchen and bath sparkling. Weekly light housekeeping service is included in your rent. (We can also do the bigger chores – like cleaning carpets, ovens and windows – for a modest fee.)
- Lift the shovel and push the mower. We maintain the attractive grounds, patio, sidewalks and parking areas for your safety, convenience and enjoyment.
- Take care of any maintenance issues. We will promptly address any maintenance concern. We even change the bulbs in your ceiling fixtures! Simply contact the apartment manager during her weekday office hours. If a maintenance emergency occurs during evening or weekend hours, please call the hospital switchboard for assistance.
Your safety and security are our top concerns. At Orchard Estates, there’s no need to worry about being alone in an emergency or time of need.
- Our on-site apartment manager is available on weekdays to assist you.
- We offer a secure, locked building with buzzer entry system. We further protect you with state-of-the-art smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms and sprinkler systems.
- We’ve installed pull-cord alarms in every bedroom and bathroom. They’re monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by staff at Glencoe Regional Health. In a medical emergency, simply pull the cord. Our staff will call 911 so emergency medical personnel can be dispatched.
- The emergency room is just down the hall at Glencoe Regional Health.
Living independently doesn’t have to mean being alone. At Orchard Estates, impromptu gatherings perk things up every day. Just stroll through the lounge or dining room to see what’s going on.
We also offer a monthly schedule of organized activities, so there is always something to do at Orchard Estates. Every tenant receives a calendar of each month’s planned activities. Here are just a few examples:
- Birthday parties and holiday celebrations
- Church services for various denominations are held each week in the chapel at our skilled nursing facility, GlenFields Living with Care
- Exercise classes
- BINGO, trivia contests and more
