For almost 50 years, Charlesgate has been offering a full range of senior care, including independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing services.

Designed to be comfortable and to make residents feel at home, our independent living apartments offer a maintenance-free lifestyle with amenities and services to fit your every need. We offer a variety of floor plans, including our studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

Charlesgate Senior Living Center’s Assisted Living services are designed to enhance the quality of life of its residents, with socialization, healthy living and activities being the basis of that high-quality life. Our dedicated assisted living staff are available 24 hours per day to provide a special combination of dietary services, personal assistance, social and physical activities, arrangement of medical and supportive services, medication administration services and much more.

Every assisted living participant enjoys a private apartment and bath which contributes to preserving and enhancing independence and the ability to remain in the community for as long as possible. Charlesgate Senior Living provides a much-needed “gap service” for individuals who are not ready for long-term care, but need some assistance in independent living.

We continue to revitalize and enhance our activities program with new recreational offerings focusing on wellness, movement and quality of living. Weekly chair yoga, beach ball volley and other gentle movement options are available. Residents also enjoy taking in the outdoors for our seasonal walking club. Wellness education programs such as diabetes management, living with COPD, and others are regularly scheduled as well.

Charlesgate Nursing Center has provided skilled nursing services and long-term care in the heart of Providence for over 35 years.

Our philosophy is that aging is a process, not an illness. We focus on the health and wellness of the resident and believe in encouraging an active lifestyle, providing assistance to assure all needs are met, but fostering independence and well-being.

Our nursing home services include a subacute unit as well as a secured area providing dementia care. We provide professional nursing services, social services, discharge planning, dining services and recreational programs. Additional services are available and can be customized based on physician’s orders, including physical, occupational and speech therapies, optometry, dental services, podiatry, audiology, psychiatry, mental health counseling, tracheostomy care, wound care and negative pressure wound therapy. Staff nurses are trained in the care of IVs, PICCs and Midlines.

We are able to schedule procedures and ancillary follow-ups to aid in recovery and safe discharge to the community. We offer our staff CPI training, a behavioral management approach which focuses on crisis prevention and allows us to provide care in a dignified and respectful manner in all types of situations.
