I just have to tell you the Fowler has just been a revelation to me it's such easy wonderful living I said that's a super focaccia we don't need to go any further so everybody was happy I wanted a place that I new leadership understood the needs that my mom had I wanted to staff that was very supportive loving not because she was a resident here but because she was her and Juliet Fowler came through Juliet Fowler is nestled in the historic Lake wood area there's lots of shopping restaurants and we're very close to downtown we are a part of this neighborhood well Juliet Fowler must have been a very interesting woman perjuring was to establish a social service agency which would provide a home for elderly widows and orphans children Juliette Fowler started because somebody decided to pay it forward I had known that it was the time the place I wanted to be I'd seen the the quality of the people that work here their attitude their mission were thrilled that she's been able to move and to feel that this is home so quickly it was important to us that there'd be activities so mom would feel engaged and participate the sense of purpose that she takes away from that for more than 120 years we have faithfully serve generations and provided choice community and connection as the only intergenerational retirement community in Dallas Fowler seeks to provide fulfillment for all generations regardless of age stage or ability our health care residents is for residents who need more around-the-clock care it might be assistance getting in and out of assistance to meals they still may need the help of someone to be there our rehabilitative services here at Julia Fowler include physical therapy speech therapy and occupational therapy those services allow the community to remain stronger longer the spiritual care program here at Fowler is to me one of the most important parts of what we do to reassure them that God is with us in all of our phases of life I think one of the most important things a chaplain does is to just simply be present to be a friend Fowler is a place where people come to have peace of mind whether you're independent and your travel all the way to hospice care we want to keep Fowler's residents active and engaged so they have a great lifestyle the minute I arrived a friend rolled up to me and she said do you play bridge and I said yes we don't like to think of our residents in terms of the things that they did in their past we like to think of the things that they do that bring value and meaning into their presence they may not really understand or realize where they're at who we are or why they're here but they do realize how we make them feel we like to think of ourselves as life in richer's the volunteers are the lifeblood of what happens here at valor we depend on our volunteers to be an extra set of helping hands to be strong backs to extend the life of our residents in in activities that they've always loved just as the needs of society have changed over the years the mission of Juliette Fowler communities has changed just as we provide a continuum of care for our elders we provide a continuum of care for our children our foster care serves children from birth through 18 the Evie house will pick up where foster care leaves off young women 18 to 24 will learn life skills secure an education and employment with the goal of being self-reliant we cannot do what we do without the generosity of our donors through one heart our donors ensure innovative care and quality of life our donors have filled the gap for residents who have outlived their resources father is a beautiful beautiful place and having a lot of wonderful people here if there's a real problem you knew it was going to be taken care of it's a feeling we get here it's not detected words Julia Fowler would be a place to call home in your retirement years I just have to tell you I really i just dropped into paradise I really love it this place offers them assurance comfort and God's blessing my only sunshine you make me happy when skies are gray no dear for you so Trey bright sunshine away my sunshine my only sunshine you make me happy when skies are gray you'll never know how much I love you please don't take my sunshine
